i ran my mate to kent last week and he was gonna give me petrol money, we got to the petrol station and i seen this flash thing so he got me that instead, i was a bit dubious at first but hell it really works, went back to car after half hour for its polish and it was dry with no streaks or beads, result, but guys dont you agree with me when i suggest that they should have put a trigger on it,,(hehe)

D - you're right the soft water makes a big difference. In Hertfordshire, we have very hard water and it's a nightmare to clean the car (one of the reasons I didn't get another black car!).
If people are considering buying this just for the de-ionised filter, then it might be worth considering the filters produced by Ionic Systems - these plug in-line on your hose and will last about 20 washes. They cost about £35 each, so you will have to do your maths on which one is better value! There are not many details on their website (being rebuilt at the moment), but if you request a catalogue or speak to them, they can give you the details.

i used to work for an industrial cleaning company, cleaning warehouses inside and out (including windows)
we had a van mounted cleaning system that used de-ionised water for the rinsing of windows and they always dryed streak free.
it didnt matter what chemical we used for the actual cleaning as long as the water was de-ionised the results were superb, with no need to squeegee (sp)the windows afterwards (quite handy when some of the windows were 50 ft up and we had to lean out of them to dry them in the old days!)

I bought one and guess what! IT WORKS 
Took me all of about 15 mins to wash and rinse and hey presto, no drying required.... dried a treat with NO water marks YIPEEEEEEE

i can cheat
when i wash my car with a sponge, before i rinse the soap off, i spray "superwax" neat all over my car with a hand spray
superwax is from our topwash program, its dosed into the rinse arches in the final stage of the carwash, i spray it on neat
then i rinse the car and it pretty much does what your saying, the water really does just fall off and leaves it spot free.
costs me nothing, they send me two 25litre barrels of the neat stuff a month and i have 7 of them in stock LOL

i also have 4 barrels of "rinse" which is pretty much the same thing
except its dosed into the lower wash programs, its not pink and i dont think it leaves as nice a shine as the better stuff, it sticks to the bodywork giving a water repellant coating which forces the water from the surface

Was at the Ideal Home Exhibition yesterday, plastic took a bit of a bashing (though the wife stopped me buying the super size jacuzzi with built in DVD player & sound system...bugger) anyway they were demonstrating the Flash Car Cleaner on their stand.
While it looks good, I can get a smear free finish with a good chamois (spelling ?) so didn't buy one. Also really not sure what shampoo comes with the cleaner, one would imagine that if they can knock the whole system out for under £20 then the shanpoo is pretty low quality.
Think they were offering it for £20 with a spare filter & shampoo bottle thrown in) at the show.

The shampoo and filter that comes with the gun are just small sample bottles. The full size ones are a fiver each. And why chamois when you can just walk away...... and return to a streak free car without having done anything more than hose your car It's the lazy bastids dream

I dont know if anyone else has found this but on using the Flsh kit, which worked pretty well, my sponges went really black like all the dirt was getting sucked in and I could not rinse any of it out. After the first time, I had a bucket of water to keep dunking the sponge in after doing each pannel but that one went black too
Normally the black grime ends up in the water not on the sponge!Hopefully a new sponge each time is not another hidden cost to factor in

Yes, those are rainbows. They're caused by prism effects on the leading edge of the water as the sheet of water dries. If you still see them after your car is dry, you've spent far too long in the sun.
What will happen to my old bucket and drying towels?
To be honest, the employment outlook for towels is rather grim. Most will end up streaked with oil before being thrown out. But buckets often find new jobs quite easily. Some will work as paint buckets or mop buckets. Most become holders of things.
What can I do with all the time I have saved, now that I don't have to dry my car by hand?

Well you can always use all that time you have saved by filling your bucket,that you now no longer need, with soil & grow some weed so that you can see rainbows with your eyes shut.
