God i'm a muppet . For some reason I thought that the hose for the return was 6mm . Right I now need to order an 8mm-8mm straight push fit adaptor for the return LOL

I've reverted back to the original plan of using the ThinkAuto Guage adaptor as the push fit connectors are bigger I fitted it between the rail & the filter (tight fit )

Still haven't found a mounting place for the fpr yet (no room left ) but I will...even if I have to make a new bracket myself

I'll post some pics when i've done it next week

BTW when warm & all the hoses are connected the fuel pressure coming through on idle is 2.2 bar. Does this seem a little low to anyone else or is it just me? That is completely standard fuelling on 380's.

Yes

Didn't want to take it off this afternoon as it's a tight fit & could have done without trying to get it back on again LOL.

As for using the 400s before a remap, not really a problem if you drop the pressure a bit. Personally i wonldn't run for long like that tho.

2.2bar doesn't sound too far out to me

Okay so today was fitting day

I've got both the fuel pressure regulator & the fuel pressure gauge connected. See below pictures:

Fuel Pressure Regulator:

Fuel Pressure Gauge:

Here's how I did it:

I found the hardest part finding a location to put the bleedin' thing . I opted to drill a bigger hole in the bracket supplied & bend it slightly (so it wouldn't touch the underside of the bonnet) & slot the bracket under the header tank & use the bolts from that to hold it in place.

Parts used:

2 x -6AN push fit fuel hose connectors (for the FPR)
1 x -6AN blocking nut (for the unused inlet on the FPR)
1 x Gauge adaptor (+ 2 push fit fuel hose connectors)
1 x Gauge
1 x Fuel rail adaptor (from FSE)
1 x 8mm-8mm push fit fuel hose connector
8 x hose clamps (for 8mm hose)
Approx 1m of 8mm fuel hose
Approx 60cm of 3.5mm vacuum hose

Firstly I removed the old vacuum hose completely & the old FPR from the fuel rail. I left the small bit of fuel hose on the return in place as it was stuck fast.

Next I put the fuel rail adaptor onto the fuel rail with the 8mm push fit connector pointing away from the engine. On my first attempt I managed to break the o-ring & pi$$ fuel all over the garage floor LOL.

Then I put the 8mm-8mm fuel hose connector into the end of the return hose i'd left in place & clamped it.

Because of where i'd positioned the FPR I found it easier to measure the hose first, connect it to the FPR & then feed it through. I ran the hose under the header tank (only about 80cm of hose for the inlet & the return in total) and connected them to the fuel rail & return. I connected a new length of vacuum hose to the engine & ran it to the FPR. After doing this I fixed the FPR in place & then put my engine back together LOL

The gauge was a much simpler affair. Simply removed the hose between the fuel filter & the rail & positioned it there.

1 question I have...what fuel pressure????

I blocked off the vacuum hose & ran the engine. I let it warm up & adjusted the fuelling to 3bar. When the vacuum hose was connected it dropped to 2.5bar. It was previously running 2.2bar on the original FPR with the vacuum hose connected.

Should I drop it back to 2.2 or is 2.5 fine?

Cheers

Just to be on the safe side I dropped it to 2.8bar with the vacuum hose disconnected & it fell to 2.3bar with it connected.

I'll take her for a spin tomorrow & see how she drives Certainly ticks over smoothly enough

How could anyone disagree with me .

If you are on the standard ecu map then i'd run it at the top end of the given figures and see how it runs.... keep an eye on the AFR.

LOL

I'm on the standard map & injectors for the mo so i'll see how I get on. I blipped the throttle on tickover & the Lambda link shot up instantly. Don't think there's any fear of running lean . Just don't want to run too rich either
