does anyone know how far it is from swindon planning on staying up there at my bros for the week then heading on down from there. me being from cornwall i assume it will be closer from swindon

It's not far, less than half an hours drive? Get on M4 at J16, get off at J17, follow dual carriageway over a couple of junctions/roundabouts (past the revenue van) then hang a right at the roundabout after the golf course, round the edge of Chippenham, hang another right when you see the signposts for Castle Combe.

There may also be a mini-convoy going from Swindon again which you could join...
