I work in Mercedes in Glasgow, punter complained today (as most have been doing since the labour rate jumped from £74 + vat to £89 + vat) that his B service (oil + filter, pollen filter, remote batteries and screen wash), MOT, and additionals of spark plugs, fuel filter, rear cradle bushes, 2 tyres (215/55R16), and n/s mirror lens coming out at near on £1500. ON A 1999 E200!!!!. The bar stewards only pay me a £10 an hour as well. Just as well I get as easy life on shifts (4 days on, 4 days off, never work sundays so 4 x 12 hour shifts in every 9 days)

£1500 on a '99 e200...now that does sound extortionate....mind you the guy should know better than to get things like tyres done at a main stealers...they'll be loads more expensive...

B service just done on my fathers s320 51 plate.
Independant place(Prosport.... anyone heard of them)
Inc Brake fluid change and coolant renewed
New front brake pads.
All merc parts and serviced to the correct spec £450 ish.
Merc wanted £450 just for a basic service without coolant or brake fluid!!!
How much of a saving is going on there!!!!

Mercedes
Merc dealers are a different subject - I was quoted between £400 and £800 (I kid you not) after calling most of the Surrey dealers, for my C43 AMG. All of them would be charging an extra £400-450 for the plug change too. Seems no consistency at all and they try and take what they can. Most punters dont even shop around. I found an independent specialist would service and change plugs for abt £600 total.

So that's why I've only seen you in the little white van
8 hours labour?
1 hour to do the service and disconnect speedo, 3 hours test driving it, 4 hours polishing out the G.A.Y graffiti
