DoctorWho, if a bit of friendly advice gets that kind of response, I suspect you will have deterred anyone who has actually seen the program from posting. Well done.

I asked a question, you took the p1ss, I then reciprocated, you then cried "troll". That makes you the person who can't take it.

So did you see the episode or not?

It's actually T-Roll and is one of the settings on the new 'polygonic' synthesiser from Clive Sinclair.

You'll probably get a better response once it has aired by more orthodox means.

Well let's get it back on track then mr troll meister!

Did you see the new series and if so what did you think? It's the most significant piece of science fiction the BBC have attempted in recent years and the most ambitious.

The episode in question will be cut before it airs, I wondered what people thought of the pre-release version.

Nope - AFAIK only the first episode has been leaked.

If it's a question then I don't know but I doubt it, if it's a statement of fact would you like to back it up?

FWIW I always thought Mr Baker was the best Dr Who but TBH the last few efforts by the BBC, the actors they chose and the quality of special effects just killed an already dead show - all IMHO

Anyway... as you were ladies and gentlemen

Just to go even further off topic, I'll state that Billie Piper could have me if she played her cards right..............and no, I'm not bothered if the Ginger Minger has been there first!

Well to bring it back on track, no I haven't seen it.

Your statement about vindication is unsubstantiated to say the least. The viewing figures and subsequent sales to other TV stations around the world will provide any vindication.

You simply have an opinion, and judging by your response to everyone elses apathy at the return of 'Dr Poo', isn't worth much in the vindication stakes.

I will watch it, but I'm not expecting much. Bu then then again the original never provided much.

Average stories, poor acting crap effects.

The only really good thing about the originals was John Pertwee and Tom Baker IMO (and of course Elizabet Slater, but I was a mere boy at the time).

Peraps you may have a better response if you lightnend up a little. P1ss taking is the order of the day on SN, so you want to play with the big boys be a little less sensitive.

I'm personally looking forward to the new series of Dr. Who. The new character promises to be a lot darker - should be intersting. As for Billie Piper, I hope she does ok. I'd hardly call her a munter, and no doubt deserves a decent break.

On the topic of Dr. Who 'birds' does anyone remember the actress who played Perry/Perri - a 1st class peanut smuggler if ever there was one!!

That would be Nicola Bryant (Peri)

Prefered Mary Tamm (romana 1) myself

Geezer
I'll leave "playing with the big boys" to you and the rest of the Blue Oyster Bar regulars.

Back on topic you forgot the other great things about the old series of Doctor Who. The Radiophonic workshops original sound effects and Ron Grainer/Delia Derbyshire's inventive theme tune. Not to mention the iconography it spawned in popular culture.
Then again that lot probably escaped you. You'd be better sticking to reality TV shows, quiz programs and sport. Less demanding on the old noggin.

The new series obviously isn't going to be groundbreaking but from what I've seen it is entertaining and slickly produced. It still has the crappy special effects though.

I'd imagine if you did a search on a popular p2p network for "DoctorWho+Rose" you'd get to see it that way.

Alternatively just get in your Tardis and watch it later in the month like I did.
