Run out of big issue to sell?

Why not chill out by rolling up some smokes from them wet butt ends.

Neighbours? Why I live on a desert island with nothing but my trusty Rolex and a mountain bike

How anybody wouldn't appreciate the quality of this is quite beyond me.

Also, the average "chav" doesn't know Breitling so it's not an object to show off really....

I don't need chronograph, hence why I don't own one.

However, the quality was my point - and Breitling is so Anti chav it's untrue.

The prize winner is your words "to me".

It may look "similar" but so does an Impreza sport to a Turbo with a scoop on the bonnet.

At the end of the day they both tell the time equally well, just that one is a status symbol, whereas the other just tells the time..

Ultimately, how is the £5000 Breitling, £4900 better than a £100 Seiko?

Yawn... Build quality, materials used, aesthetic appeal

How is a £5000 bike better than a £100 one?

a watch at this level is mostly jewlery.....cant see the problem myself......why does Tiffanys exist when we could all make do with Elizabeth Duke.....because some people like nicer jewlery.

dammit beat me to it
Was going to make the comparison that noone bats an eyelid when women wear expensive jewellery.

pretty much the only thing a bloke can get away with (apart from rings) is a decent watch. therefore what is the problem?

Anyway- i have mine. Happy with it. so

If you started this thread and drive anything other than a £50 fiesta popular plus, then you have just made a total muppet of yourself

Those 2 watches look very similar indeed.

Could some of the expensive watch idiots explain how anyone is meant to tell the difference between the 2 at a glance? Do you hold your wrist at awkward angles so they can get a good look? Or do you just bring it seamlessly into the conversation like this

W@nk watch wearers dumb *** pub buddy "Been raining a lot recently hasn't it, Dave?"

W@nk watch wearer "yeah cats and dogs mate, still never mind because my watch is waterproof to 2 bar, here take a look, cost me 2 grand and that innit,I'll have a pint of Stella mate"

Nobody buys a watch costing over £500 in order to tell the time or to gaze at it's beauty. It's a status symbol, the only problem is the status it confers outside your circle of social climbing money grubbing mates is that of gauche idiot.

I think you'll find that many people regard some fat (old) slag wearing tons of jewellery in a similar vein as the expensive watch brigade Freak.

Tiffanys exists primarily to take money from people who believe the hype. They go there spend a few thousand dollars on something costing about 1/5 of the price from somewhere less famous and then brag about it to their social climbing mates on their shoebox estates/Harvester pub/health club in an out of town shopping center.

Classy.

Not an expert but I do know all about Tiffanys, it's for tourists at the low end and unless you got a private showing in a luxury suite you bought tat from them.

I'm sure your wife is slim and lovely, what a lucky man you are. You must be an exception to the rule on here though.

Wow a Subaru, that must make you the envy of all the local scum. I bet you feel so proud as you drive around.

I have a nice watch too, it's a Casio F-91W black resin case Chrono. It rocks old skool style and cost £1.

I'm sorry, but that's JUST not true. You would never know in a million years what my watch is worth - most people have never heard of it. But i've worked hard to earn enough to own what i consider to be one of the most beautiful watches in the world. I have NEVER been asked what it cost, and i have NEVER crowbarred the issue into any conversation, ever. I wear a Seiko most of the time. Where does this leave your generalisation? On shaky ground, sir.

**** me i've missed this

So you are an exception to the rule then if we are to believe what you say. I believe that somewhere out there is an X5 driver who isn't a total tool.
Haven't seen one yet though.
