Let's be honest about one thing here, the 03,04,05 WRX is nothing to write home about is it? 215bhp WOW big deal. Like I said earlier, if it wasn't for the AWD just how many of you would buy one? I know I wouldn't.
Lancer owners take this p1ss out of the VIII 260, but hang on a minute that is the same power as the mighty STi what must they be thinking about the WRX ?
What I'm trying to say is, the WRX is a fairly decent car but to make it a better car you need to spend money on it. That just isn't right in my opinion. If it came with 265bhp out of the box it would be worth the money that these cars demand.

at the end of the day its horses for courses again!.
Their are always going to be people that dont like the impreza and critizise it for what it stands for.
But you dont have to listen to them , you drive it because you have always wanted one or you like the rally looks , whatever your reason its still a fantastic car.
I have a golf as well ( girlfriends ) . and its a great well made car and looks the part and has (247 bhp) but i always want to jump back in the scoob and blast around the
country lanes again , because it delivers that fun factor .
Dan
Now stop comparing a golf to a scooby !!

You know fellow scooby owners I need help - I've tried bitting the table, the duvet etc, bascially anything to stop me bitting at the coments from Danny B.
Danny, the latest Golf Diesels do what they do very well, and if that was your comment then I'm supportive - but why try to articulate your case through talking about the alledged 'poor' features of a WRX. Wouldn't it be better or more informative to tell me about the Golf strong points? Oh and why suddenly bring in Lancer vehicles? Danny, are you stirring it

Point I was trying to make was that the Impreza WRX is the bottom of the range model so the comparisons between a Golf and the WRX are to be expected.
Oh and before anyone starts slagging me off about being bottom of the range this is what I meant.
WRX
WRX + PPP
STi
STi + PPP
JDM STi
JDM Spec C
JDM S203
etc etc
I like the WRX, but I wouldn't have one as a mile muncher. That's all I'm saying.

Do the germans have a hotter golf that we don`t get whatever reason?
I just wish they would bring back the old rules for motorsport, but make it stricter, and make the manufacturers make more examples before they were aloud to race them, Like 5000 vehicles of the type you wish to race.

To be honest here i can (as an 03WRX owner) agree with some of what Danny B is saying. My car is now nearly how i want it, and i have had to spend thousands to get it that way. Having owned one from new, i really think the WRX is a ****e spec. Yes it is **** of a shovel for sure, and i still love it now, but in WRX form the rest is pish.
Suspension is too wallowy and that standard exhaust! LOLz0rs to that f00ka.
There is more sounds from one of my farts.
But as for your comments on cost, all UK cars are ****e, and that includes your VW whose price tags really do take the biscuit. And i do actually love Golfs, i used to have one and still love em now. But what it comes down to is pure and simple:
Show me a standard car for the same money that can better a WRX for performance.
SAy no more. I paid 19k for mine (yes i know i'm a c**t), and pound for pound it pisses over anything.

Remember, one man's fish is another's poison.
Scooby owners buy them for various reasons and i don't think it's anyone elses' damn biz, why they do.
NB: If golf rocks your world, you are on the wrong forum. Typical Scoobynet.

I am not excrementing in Scoobynets backgarden, I happen to like the WRX Impreza very much. The point I was making (as a now ex-Scooby owner) is that the WRX is a decent car but to make it better you need to throw some money at it and then it will leave many of these cars that it is compared against (such as the Golf) behind.
That is all I am saying.. besides winding MaDaSS up about the 182
My regular mode of transport is on two wheels these days so a Golf is of no benefit to me in Central London but if I were a travelling salesman doing 20,000 miles + I would get one in a heartbeat.
Enough of this, I've got a Sunday roast to eat....

Well, you've convinced me, my Classic is Cr@p, couldn't out handle a turd, out accelerate a dead snail in gear. I'm just going to have to sell it and buy something with less BHP, Torque as that is clearly better. Ho Hum, shopping trip to France then.

"nettled" yeah, I am really "nettled"
The sort of comments regarding the French clutter madein this thread make it even funnier when they get over taken in the wet twisties of Bedford, by a girl.
Dave
