After 2 years of being parked on the street in Central London, the day I sell my classic Scoob, some piece of **** decides to key one entire side of the car.
These morons have no idea how much danger they place themselves in when they do stuff like this. If I had caught them in the act...

It's hard to believe that there have been over 1000 views to this thread and only 187 votes in the poll.
Would I be right to assume that the majority of people on Scoobynet are lurkers or non-Scooby owners or is it that people don't want to know how serious or not crime against Scoobies is?
I did this posting trying to find out if our Scoobies are safe or not, lookslike its a flop.
Ah well, back to the Hutch !!

Burst into house, lifted keys. Car gone, despite me trying to stop the vermin. Got it back (scratched, dented, and probably used in some sort of criminal activity) about 4 days later. Then took 6 weeks for the insurance to sort it out and get it back on the road.

So far, nothing [touch wood] but my past MINI's were shocking...
COOPER
- rear badges nicked (£20)
- keyed on all four sides the night before trade in (£650 repair - dealer did it at cost)
COOPER S
- badges front and back nicked in first month (£30)
- dented bonnet second month (£230 repair)
- spoiler ripped off three weeks before trade in for WRX (£200 repair)
Like I said, shocking.

I had an 03 Impreza WRX for 6 months and had no bother with it. That only had the factory fit alarm on it too...
Just bought a 53 STi Prodrive, but decided to have a few "extra" bits of protection added to it - hopefully nothing will happen to it... it does tend to stick out a bit more than my old WRX...

More votes today please !!!
It's not looking that bad, a lot of Scooby drivers reporting no criminal activity.
The more votes I get, the more accurate the outcome will be.

How do I change my vote from 'Impreza Classic Nothing to report' to 'Damaged'?
Went out to the car this morning and some barsteward had smashed the n/s/r door window. Glass everywhere and the trim above the window twisted out where they'd levered with a screwdriver. Also the front pasenger door lock destroyed, again probably with a screwdriver and the surround levered out and busted, another screwdriver mark above the door glass.
Loads of bits they could have nicked but nothing taken, WTF!
Spent the day clearing the garage an it now resides in there with a Chrysler Voyager 3" from the garage door. Most of tomorrow will probably be spent looking for parts to replace the busted bits. Then another day or so fitting them.
Rant over

hey all...
i have to say that being a loyal servant of Her Madge, i normally have armed guards and growly snarly dogs protecting my MY02 WRX PPP, but after reading some of the posts on here about peoples houses being broken into, i was very concerned when i went back up north to see the family about parking outside my parents house, so i parked it across the road down a little side street which was still well lit but wasnt outside any houses, so i guess would therefore give a potential thief no idea which house the keys were in...
it is in a quiet cul de sac though which leads me to wonder how thieves target cars parked in driveways, etc...

Every1 here knows the story, but im glad Ive got her back.
kinda like going back to ya partner after they have cheated on ya. It looks the same, feels the same, but you know somebody else has been riding it
