I'm stuck! I have picked the last bit of the letter up from the last set of doors, but I don't know what to do now 
Every time I click left or right, it just takes me back into the room I was in before!

It's dead easy the second time around 
As for the box, there is a simpler way to do it (warning: spoilers)
Each symbol has a horizontal line on it, apart from the card that goes in position 5. Arrange them so that the higher up the line is on the card, you put it on the lower numbered position on the box.

Use the gold and silver keys to open the drawers, you'll find some items in there. Also in the drawers above too. Use the cable you find to power the CD player. Turn it on, open the drawer, and find another item. Shake the curtain, an item falls out. Look at the end of the bed, you'll find a metal pole. Put the two rings you've collected, and the pole into the holes on the top of the box. Then put the the tape in the box, and the battery too.
