Misty, you pay 11% what percentage does the employer add,and is it a final salary scheme or defined contribution.
It's a final salary scheme, but as this lot is trying their best to destroy FSPS, who knows what could happen!!

You joined on the wages offered and were happy to actually get called out once a month for a 'serious' Oh Dear So stop moaning about the pay!!

There are 30 applicants for each FireFighter job at the wages and terms offerred ................... so, leave! Plenty want what you have!

Sorry, you are NOT worth £30k - the market conditions say that - you could be replaced 30 times over at £20k!!!

Any FireFighter who would retire before 2013 are NOT affected by the changes I have been reliably informed
So that makes it all alright does it? Yes I do know many firefighters under 40.
Why don't you get along to your local fire station and put your points across face to face with a few firefighters mate? CHALLENGE!!!!!! Or like this labour government are you to afraid to look people in the eye when talking tough!!!

if sumbody is botherd by pulling dead kids out of a fire or chopping peoples legs off then they shouldnt really be in that job IMO if they think the pay isnt high enough to warrent the distress?

its easy to diss sumbody who you think does nothing for 60k a year, but lets get real, they have probably put a lot more hours in before hand to enable them to get to that position, unless they brownosed there way up, in which case fire away!!

when i worked for nissan, 99% of the people next to me seriously hated the office staff upstairs, they got the same wage, and sat there at a desk all day, theres lads busting there ***** building cars, while a "pen pusher" upstairs played solitaire on the pc for the same money.

some people would say "if you were not such a mong in school you would be pushing the pen yourself"

i have tried my best not to be a **** in this reply

"sorry mr Lewis,we cant send anyone out to save your house,3 rang in sick,1 turned up drunk, and 2 just never turned up".

I said £20k I think?? NOT £12k

And at £20k they attract 30 applicants ..... lets assume 25 are crap?

Thats STILL 5 who would be good and would kill to get the job!!

And who wouldn't?? Play pool, do another job, play playstation, rescue Mrs Smiths cat, and then - One day in a month - actually have to do some REAL stuff like cut a car roof off!!

If thats correct, then most workers would love a pension scheme like that. Most pensions now are rubbish,Boots pay only 3% and its defined contribution,no wonder 80% of Boots employees dont bother joining.
I wont comment on the job or salary but that is one great pension scheme.

Nah, lewis will have just cut and pasted some slogans he found on another website somewhere.

I think he spent too long in the sun gathering up those trollies in Morrison's car park today.
