Right then
I love it! Its only got 20k on it so it should be clean!
Accelaration is very good, and it feels quick even for an N/A car. Im not easily pleased on this front, but it is very fast. It will do well over a ton and not feel like it is either. 6 speed is essential, the 5 speed on the ITR makes it difficult to drive. If you change before the redline on the S, you still end up in the VTEC in next gear. Great
Living costs are extremely good. Refund on my insurance policy, does 250 plus miles from a £36 fill of Optimax and the servicing is dirt cheap! Honda dont care if its a Jazz or an S2k on pricing. Mines due a 45k and its £130! Imagine that on a scoob
Handling in the dry is great, its like a go kart. Im gently pushing it in the wet to see how it behaves, and my only complaint is that I dont feel that in touch with the back end. I need some space to get the **** out, but it is a bit twitchy. Not a car that would be easy to drift I dont think.
I might put some springs on it and some braces and see if that helps.
The best bit is the box, looks and interior quality. Amongst other such as the redline, running costs and the roof factor. It feels like a very special place to sit.
Bad point at the mo is the clutch is a bit sticky, but easily sorted, and a glass rear screen is a must. Mine is misted and pretty useless ATM.
When I got the ITR I found it fun, then got bored after a few weeks and found it a bit disappointing. The S is much quicker and the 6 speed makes it spot on.
Get Rich's and you'll have a nice drive back, and ill buy you a beer
Do not hesitate - get one!

You've already got practical covered.
Consider a VX220. Loads more fun than a scoob

It looks nicer in the flesh!, even Mark was tempted with the Red, it was not the colour we set out to get but the dealer we went to had one, it was in our budget and he was very helpful (unlike HORIZON in Bournemouth who are TO$$ERS!!!!!)
Anyway, the last two sports cars were red so we thought what the hell! So we bought it....
Love it to bits and dont really want to sell it but i've gone self employed and having an expensive car is a bit daft.
let me know if you want to look/drive/buy
You'll love it!

S2000 Virginity Lost
Just drove my first S2000 today and here are my thoughts:
At first I jumped into the passenger seat and the roof was up. My first thoughts were how snug it was - but not so much so as to be a problem. Once on the move I was then impressed at how refined it was with the soft-top up and driving 'normally'.
Once warmed up the saleman gave her some stick up a sliproad and the noise was amazing! It must sound the absolute nuts with an HKS and a CAI!!! We drove a bit further and I took over. The seating position was not bad but I was sitting quite upright - once we got back I noticed there was a little more adjustment that I could have made though. I pulled off and got her into vtec and off she went. It was plenty quick even with 3500m on the clock and the gearbox is....................just...............wow! Until now I've been blown away but my first/only complaint is at the first corner. The stearing is as they say, dead! There is little feeling of what the front wheels are doing and that is a little worrying. My 360bhp S2000 on GT4 has more feedback through the force feedback steering wheel It maybe gets better when you really load it up but I didn't want to get silly in the corners with the salesman there. There seems to be good balance, poise and grip through the bends so I can't forsee any great problems in the handling department.
Next we find ourselves at a set of lights and I ask if we can drop the top at some point. I expect him to say, 'pull up after the lights' but instead he quickly unclips two catches and flicks a switch. Long before the lights are green the whole roof is down and the car is transformed - the open top feeling on a sunny day like today was brilliant! The rest of the drive was excellent although you did get a sense of the drag at the higher speeds with the roof down.
Now to shoot down a myth: Off-vetec performance - perfectly acceptable IMHO! I drive a 406 V6 every day which you'll appreciate is not shy on lowdown grunt and the S2000 was not far off the pug for lowdown stuff. I certainly never felt like I was 'needing' vtec to move along nicely but it was nice to know its there
All in all I was very impressed and now the hook is so deep into my mouth its in the bone! I have to have one, I will have one!!

Saxo, its always difficult to tell how a car behaves until you own it and get it in your own hands - its even quicker when you do... I do agree on the steering, but its the back end you need to feel. Ive been slowly provoking mine and come to the conclusion that its difficult to drift and kicks with little warning. Im not sure what it does after that as I cant find a big empty space to play! I wouldnt like to enter a corner too quick with it, and the key is to go in smooth and then power out rather than get it wrong on the way in. In the wet I wouldnt bother, I can drive it quickly ive found, but if you get it slightly wrong its a lot of money down the drain!
Think im going to put Eibachs and some braces on mine...
MB (currently driving with the lid off the airbox )

You've got a pre-2002 model remember and they made significant suspension revisions to tame the back end. This is the reason I'll only entertain 2002 and newer when I come to get one. Running with the airbox supposidly sounds brilliant but saps at the power a little from heat soak!
I'm probably 4-8 weeks from getting one and already I have my mods planned out. RPM induction (lots of noise, no worse than standard for power and most importantly NO chance of hydrolocking!). Next comes the exhaust and I fancy the HKS to fit the bill and then after that maybe some wheels but I've not seen any alloys on the S that I like Might look into lowering it but I don't want to f-up the handling or make it impossible to negotiate all the speed bumps in edinburgh!

TVR Griffith 500. Nothing else for the price comes close. (Ours cost well below your target price.)
They have the old Rover v8, bored out to 5 litres, so they're fairly reliable if you pick one that has been used regularly. (Ours is used daily, and has only had one small problem with the clutch - cost £10 to fix) Fuel consumption is anywhere between 16 to 26 mpg depending on how heavy your right foot is.
Oh, and they're quick...
Try driving one - it's something you'll never forget.

Not significant changes revised geometry settings which can be applied to the earlier cars...
There is a touch of heat soak, but not when moving - and the sound is worth it

My mrs had a Jazz sport courtesy car and we test drove a civic sport recently (and me CTR a while back). All nice cars but the same airy steering - just felt like nothing there. We both commented that we were constantly moving the wheel for no apparent reason.
I would hope this is not the same for the S2000. I would love one if I had the spare cash. Would prefer a Boxster on looks but S2000 a lot more affordable to own.
And to the fella who put a pic of the Mini drop top - I cant believe any Male would even contemplate buying one of those. It just creams chick at you.
Simon.

£15k on a kit car is a bit daft unless he wants a ...kit car. ie. it lives in the garage and is used for weekends.

Tiggs - our Griff is used daily and left outside in the evenings. TVRs work better if they're well used! Water ingress isn't a problem if you change the roof seal rubbers every year.
I know what you mean about the kit car though - the build quality is a bit suspect in places...
