The engine was a 2.85l V6 Peugeot-Renault-Volvo colaboration. To meet US emisions it was tuned to only produce 130bhp. In UK where they didn't need the catalytic convertors they produced around 145bhp. Today it's quite easy to get 170bhp with an unrestrictive exhaust and few minor mods. The car only weighs 1200kg so can be fairly nippy. (and the chassis / suspension is based on a Lotus Esprit)
