Let's get this straight. You break the law, the police pull you over, you're wasting their time. You don't break the law, they don't pull you over, everyone's happy. It's pretty simple stuff. What you're asking for is a 'blind eye'.
I should add that I wasted police time on two occasions with a mis-spaced numberplate. I appologie to any grannys that may have been hurt due to this.

What are you lot on. Its the police's role to "uphold the law all the time". Not "uphold the law all the time, but sometimes we may have to ignore traffic offences and minor thefts as the burglary rate has gone up a bit"
Your talking about two traffic bobbies who, i'm sure, if they saw a burglary in progress near by would stop it.
The roles of individual officers within a police force is very complex and we are all very busy as the jobs we take on are complex.

I'm not talking about individual officers Felix, I'm talking about the Police (make that governement) 'stratagy' (for want of a better word) for fighting crime as a whole.

Its not about ignoring motoring crimes when they are observed, its baout not going looking for them in the first place when they should be looking for murderers/rapists/burgalars....

Again, not sure what your point is but I'm damn sure having a flamer kit or a squiffy numberplate doesn't predispose someone to nicking tv's or angle-grinders.
What a waste of bandwidth your post was. I don't expect to get pulled every night just in case I have a tv in the boot ffs. That's not solving crime, that's one step away from the Gestapo.

I think all these dodgy plates, flamers, black tints, etc are a godsend.
Whilst the Police are bogged down with petty motoring offences, trying to impress their superiors with how many HORT's they have dished out.
Real criminals have more chance of escape.
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.
Dont like Chavs much, but they are a good smoke screen...

there should be less of an effort/focus on easy target motorists + more bobbys on the street in the rough estates, late at night, etc. Think of this, if one of your relatives had been burgled and attacked and that night there were not enough police on the beat, as a visible deterrant, all that would happen is they'd turn up late, take a report and **** off to the donut van/chasing motorists again. FFS can't anyone see that its resources deployed in the wrong area

The point here is that a muppet thinks it`s cool to have a flame kit or whatever knowing it`s illegal and then has the cheek to complain when he gets a pull by plod by saying they should be better employed elsewhere.

When the parents got burgled they said they would turn up asap. In police speak this mean two days later, no finger prints looked for or taken, no neighbours spoken too. Just some yaddayadda, not much chance of us catching them etc etc.
Lets face it, all the (admitedly nice) coppers were really needed for was the insurance company and crime ref. That's how much faith we had for the crims getting collared.
Evenin all <while bending knees>
