The point here is that a muppet thinks it`s cool to have a flame kit or whatever knowing it`s illegal and then has the cheek to complain when he gets a pull by plod by saying they should be better employed elsewhere.

Why do people insist on taking the mick out of someone who writes about something that happened that day, surely if you havnt got anything nice to say then dont say anything! You think you can say what you want because your hiding behind a computer or are you just naturally sad

Where I work you'd be pulled over every day that you used your motor and be in court if you didn't get the thing removed after your 1st VDRS.

all that wasted taxpayers time could be spent with bobbys walking round giving criminals a visible deterrant

Why is it a waste of time?
Do you know just how many people drive around with no licence, no insurance and with stolen articles, drugs and offensive weapons in their cars? Not to mention those driving under the influence of drink/drugs.
LOADS do.
You go into any custody suite in the country and look at the detention board list. You'll find that around half of all people arrested for serious offences were pulled over in their cars.

I know it`s your car and your choice etc etc but you`re a bit naive to expect to be left alone by the police.
If the term muppet offends you then I`m sorry. You are an upstanding member of the public and as such should be free to do what you want, after all you pay your taxes etc.

Police pull over what they believe to be 'worth a stop'. What you probbaly don't realise is that when they pull a car over they've already done several checks whilst driving the thirty seconds or so behind it. If anything's untoward with those checks then the car's pulled - or just pulled if there's been an offence.
If you've done nothing wrong and are all legal then where's the worry??
Pulling cars is a great source of finding wanted people, stolen cars etc.

motorist = easy target
bobbys on beat = no revenue for more donuts
surely you would agree that a visible street deterrant is vitally important to prevent crime. how will this happen when theres so many damn traffic cops

Vehicles are no more targeted than any other area of policing.
Criminals drive just like the rest of us, and funnily enough use these vehicles for crime - hence section 163 of the road traffic act 1988 allowing a constable in uniform to stop any vehicle on public road should he/she desire to do so without reason
And it's rarely traffic police you see driving in cities/town. They're just normal response police that happen to be in a vehicle.

If you're pulled and are an **** then you've more chance of getting something.
Stopping a car that looks dodgy or whatever is really no different to stopping someone on the streets who arouses police suspicion. People get stopped and searched all the time - it's really the only way to catch crims. Real life isn't The Bill where the crime happens in front of June Ackland as she walks round the corner LOL.
If only..........

Flamer kits lol
as bad as VTA's
trying to make your car out to be something it is not, a rally car
pure filthy chav, and to make matters worse you wasted the time of the officers and you prevented them from doing other jobs.
if you didnt have your dodgy chav flamer and number plate and everyone else didnt speed then these officers could be deployed to what you consider a more useful task.
maybe the problem with these sort of chav items (VTA's/Flamers etc) is that you are more concerned looking over your shoulder/rear view to see the flames or getting up a head of pressure to let it all whoosh out thereby taking your attention away from, lets be honest, probably the most dangerous thing we do, drive a ton of various metals at ludicrous speeds with potentially fatal consequences.
is your keyboard broken by the way?
it appears to be missing the letter "g"

I would have thought that a Court would take a dim view of a police officer saying that he stopped a vehicle 'without reason'.
Just interested, not trying to start an arguement

Of course you have advised your insurance company that the Vehicle has a Flamer Kit on it ? If not your insurance wont be valid. That is reason enough to be pulled. Surely you cant argue that uninsured drivers should be ignored ?
You suggest a bloke in a rusty old cavalier is more likely to be a criminal over a young bloke in a Maxpowered Scooby ? Yeah right, of course. The Police do indeed waste some time with motoring/biking offences imho, but this is very different I think.
