sweet

i like the c/f spoiler, it pulls the look of the spec C away from the standard wrx/sti look, even tho the roof vent does that.

AP brake kit is around £1800 but can bought for around £1450 from Money

Shaun , do u not find the SEC's unit too low down to read it ok?

Personally I find the CF spoiler too "Fast 2 Furious" for my liking, but it's personal taste tbh.

The SEC's unit is fine as I dont look at it much, as I need to concentrate on rapidly approaching corners!

Regards,
Shaun.

Allan,

I presume it is as it is an optional extra.

Very nice looking car

How do you find the AP's compared to the Brembo's on the UK Sti?

Cheers,
Callum

Thumbs up

Thanks Shaun,

I have been thinking about upgrading my Brembo's to this kit for some time.

AP are also developing a rear 4 pot kit to match the fronts. Sadly only in 300mm but nevertheless they would finish it off nicely All I need to do now is rob the local bank

Have fun and don't spend more time modifying it than you do driving it

Cheers,
Callum

Callum, i have driven a car back to back with Brembos, then AP 6 pots, the difference is mind blowing.

I drove a 400bhp STi7 at the weekend, and i felt the braking was inadequate at the front, but ample at the rear.

I have to be extremely carefull when i drive other peoples subarus to remember that they dont always have AP6's on the front. You should be able to sell the Brembos on, and the investment in the AP's will be one of the best additions to your car IMO.

Shaun, car looks nice.

Hi Steven,
Many thanks for the feedback, it's much appreciated. My Brembo's were starting to fade at Bruntingthorpe so an AP upgrade has been on the cards. Serves me right for having a heavy car Now that I know the difference is significant I need to do a deal

Shaun,
Don't keep us in suspense too long. Sort your plans out and let us know
No bling bits though

Question

Do the AP 6 pots fit under the OEM 17" wheels on the new age STi? Or is it 18's only?

AFAIK the 6 Pots will fit but in the 330mm diameter. To use 355's like Shaun's you will need 18's and for the 362mm kit you will need 19's.

If you're thinking about upgrading the brakes on an STI, try getting braided hoses fitted first. You'll want them if you upgrade anyway, but even on their own they firm up the pedal no end. I have them on my car and don't feel the need of an expensive upgrade - at least, not yet

Callum,

I'm going as fast as I can! But working with several companies means it's a bugger to tie them all down to slots on the calender, especially as I am still waiting for some final production versions of items to be manufactured!

Bling is not in (well not with me anyhow), so any mods will be of the purposeful and tastefully selected kind. I don't want to ruin the car!!!!

Regards,
Shaun.
