We have those smart repair/profinish guys come into work regularly and he said he would do it for £65 - either masking up all the badges or taking them off and trying to reposition them after (he suggested debadging (easier for him I guess lol) but I'm not after that look). It worries me a little that he may put the badges on a bit iffy but anyway....He said it would be darker than the original paint and he would have to blend it out.
I also got a quote from the local Scooby dealer to do it all properly, and they wanna charge circa £350+.....
Seems like a no brainer but a patient of my girlfriend's who is a sprayer said that Japanese and Scooby paint has different reflectors in it, and that this is only really available through official channels (ie dealers) and as such any non official paintwork would probably stand out a mile.
This sounds a bit dodgy to me - but he had nothing to gain from it so unless he is just blatantly wrong, not sure why he would have come out with it if there isnt some kind of truth in it? Any ideas?
And I agree with some of the sentiments above - why do people get jealous of other peoples nice cars and not just admire them? I dunno

Sounds like a bargain As long as your assured of a decent job & some comeback if your not happy.
I wouldn't expect a normal bodyshop to paint the side of a car for less than £500.
Mobile 'smart' repairers normally work at around £75-100 per panel & most mobile chaps wouldn't be able to cope with more than 1 or 2 panels at most as it's very difficult to keep the repair clean whilst painting it without a booth.
Hope this helps

10 years ago I parked my 1987 D reg micra on the wrong side of the wrong street in Newcastle. The following morning, every car on the side I had parked had dented roofs and bonnets, courtesy of students deciding ro sun over the cars on that side of the road. The cars on the other side of the road were untouched.
Total bad luck.

Sorry for you guys...
Mine is faded to pink on all the skyward facing surfaces, lightly scatched on every corner and with a light bonnet dent from 'touching' a Jeep Cherokee rear step! (All my own doing )
Paint guy quoted £150 to sort it all out! Good news you might think... but wife doesn't want it done 'cos she feels safer with a scuffy car when she has to park in some dodgey areas some times...
Just shows the world we live in nowadays
