Scoobyshootout news update
#32
quick update to ask anyone who is considering entering to please do so asap, confirmed entry numbers are not yet sufficient to keep it scooby only and we may have to open it up to other clubs to fill the remaining places after the weekend.
we may implement a class system as per the previous rwyb events at elvington this year; ie 13.5s class, 12.5s, 11.5s and unlimited as suggested elsewhere, if that does encourage more scoobs to enter and win a trophy.

Neil, Classes work in the following way.
You pick your class, say 13.5, your aim is to get as near to that as possible, so you are top of that class, the difficulty is if you "break out". ie if you run 13.49, you have broken out, and consequently go up a class into the 12.5 class, where nearest to 12.5 is the top car in the class.
Alan, that has crossed my mind, but no, cant afford to buy or repair it now, and i would break IT
Colby, you want the boost?, you cant handle the boost! I have driven a car today, that would whip your car into submission, and it isnt even a Scoob . I have recently had a lot of high powered Scoobs behind my cars, and they couldnt get past for love nor money.

Cheers Steven, your reply confirmed my thoughts on the class breaks ...
Not sure what mine will run, so prob put up in the up to 12.5 sec class ... I hope it would now do the sub 13's easily ... we'll see on the day!
Are you running, and which beast would it be ?
Ciao

Tasberley, yes its now a RWYB as well, so yes entry on the day, although i think its a fiver more.
Steve, i do get itchy feet, its nice when someone says, "here, have a go" as they hand me the keys
Oldfella, no servicing , just there to help out

just got off the phone with trev @ straightliners. initially we had not planned for any rwyb entries, nor was it a straightliner rwyb event, its one we booked for SSO 2005 as a pre paid entry event. obviously we have now had to open it up to rwyb on the day, and entry forms to guarantee a place can be taken uptil the 12th-14th may latest.
for ease on the day, and to ensure it runs smoothly at sign on, we have had to set the rwyb fee at the same price of £45 in total. this means rwyb entrants on the day will have to queue at the gate and pay £10 entry per person to get in.
competitors who pre paid will receive a pass in the post that will allow them to drive straight in and into pitlane, plus a support vehicle pass if required. (passengers will be charged entry)
rwyb entries must then pay a further £35 cash at sign on, making it £45 total to compete. this is for 1/4m and top speed runs all day.
again, pre paid drivers will simply show their docs at sign on and scrutineer their car.
driver meeting is at 9.45am, dont miss it as you will not be allowed on then to race without finding the clerk of the course (trevor) on the morning for a one to one briefing.
general public can enter from 9am.
