You do know that replacing a clutch on a Scooby is a 5 hour job, right?

I am going to TOTB and a couple different jap shows to get in some practice. I must say its quite annoying and exciting at the same time. After only owning front wheel drive cars with a 3rd of the power, then driving this and learning an entirely new enviroment.

Some of the ideas on here with holding the revs at between 2.5k and 3.5k and slipping the clutch sound like a plan to try out this afternoon. I really dont wanna be doing any high rev, drop the clutch starts as i just dont want to have to fork out for a new clutch already! LOL.

Is it worth going for a double/triple plated clutch? Will this solve that problem?

lol @ you guys.

How about i change it to "Im probably 10 years younger than the average person on here and already got a new Impreza STi" Now stop complaining.

No i put that title, because i posted a mature one in Driving Dynamics and didnt get a great responce. I will change it now to something more suitable.

Bloody hell, i thought everyone on here would be grown up enough not to critize (Spelling) new drivers as you all been there at one point. We all start some where learning!

2 hrs if you go to the right place besides my twin plate clutch is more than up to the job also by side stepping the clutch you are engaging it fully and not letting it slip, give the rest of the drivetrain a good going over though

Seems like good responses on that thread to me. What were you expecting?

So, changed this thread title yet? Thought not. Oh dear.

But your car is the finest and fastest piece of hand-built motoring craftsmanship ever, isn't it?

Or is it a mass produced, family saloon, crafted by computer and built by robots?

You know the score

With regards to: GC8 comment. Go screw ya self. I only had the car 4 weeks and 21 so its the most powerful car i have owned to date. Suprisingly its going to take some time to learn all the tips, driving skills and control of the car.

Thanks all. Just practice makes perfect huh
Have you put your dummy back in yet? Seeing as you plainly dont have the experience required to drive a 100+Bhp per litre turbocharged car nor the wit to understand how it works, then perhaps you should have stuck to a Nova until youd learnt to drive Sonny?

This is another 'I cant drive' thread and youve made yourself look like a **** by posting it.

It's the latter....... I drive a Toyota Corolla!

Just kidding.

TBH I don't really think about how my car ranks in the great scheme of things. I just love it to bits. I dare say there are 17 year olds out there who feel the same way about their 1.0 Corsa and I'm sure that there are owners of some genuinely exotic cars that don't care about them much. It'd be a boring world if we all liked the same thing/felt the same way.

An observation on driving: better to admit ignorance and learn than think you're great right up till the monent you land in a hedge. Few of us -myself included- are as good as we think we are and even fewer of us are good enough to criticise other people's driving.

Best wishes, NS04

Must be missing something - both scoobs I've owned are sub 6.5 seconds to 60mph ( not come across a saxo yet that does that yet) My subarus have had awd too? So that and a few revs have catapulted me from a standing start to light speed faster than anything I've come across - Im baffled that a newbie, midbie or oldbie would struggle to beat (almost) anything from lights

I say fair play for asking.

Scooby's are harder to get a good start and I am sure most people have found that so for a newbie to ask is okay with me. Lets face it - it does take practice - and i'm still learning.

Nothing wrong with asking questions; in fact he did it well in the correct forum.

However, posting a thread with a deliberately antagonistic title and then bleating when he gets flamed is a bit rich in my book.

And it's handbrake, Brooksie.... nothing breaks if you do it when stationary.
