Impreza's truely suck off the lights!!

you dont have to rev it up when at a standstill at the lights.
yes the car can bogg down if you mess the launch. but i do have the standard td04 turbo and other mods to let it spin up early.which is a slight advantage
the way i work it,
is simply be at biting point on the clutch.other foot ready with accelerator [at the lights]
when lights go green put foot down on accelerator as much as you deem nescasary for the situation at the same time keep your foot on the clutch around biting point [slipping the clutch ever so slightly] but enough so you are moving forward
this done seemlessly will give you catapolt acceleration off the lights with no wheelspin unless your kicking the accelerator
its amazing the traction off line that can be acheived
it is literaly like a catapault!!!!!!!!

You cant tell me the frogs ever built a decent car??
They do tend to handle very well, but otherwise their engineering is questionable...

Frenchboy - that was going to be my counterpoint, but i remembered thinking of buying one and it really seemed like pot luch whether you got one where the dash wouldn't fall apart or the suspension would pack up. I still like them, just find it hard to believe that in this day and age, that they cant get it right.

G.Sleigh....
MY tip is build revs to 3.5k max 3k to be safe hold on the biteing point , when the lights change lift off the clutch ... and go for it .
That advice got my standard at the time uk turbo to do 14.1 quater mile. and before my boost controler i have manageed 5.3 to 60 .

nah, still not quite got it mate
what you've got to do is allienate every living soul on the board thru abuse/ridicule, pull them up on their spelling, post up the odd thread about beating an evo/m3/spaceship
REPLY IN CAPITAL LETTERS
then basically sort of apologise and have a group hug
oh, then ask which oil is best and why is a VTA dump valve better than atmospheric.
and post every thread regardless of topic in scooby general.
that should just about cover it

Why not hold the car at about 3000 revs and let the car boost up. It should do it. Then just hold it wait for the lights to go out then let the clutch go. make sure you find the biting point first then let the clutch out slowly cos otherwise it will melt it !!!

whats that?a subaru driver that cant drive, how unusual.dont worry about it G-sleigh-sti,if you want the thing to perform better get it to places like santa pod, trackdays etc.. and there will be plenty of drivers to show you how to do it.if you wanna do it properly though id suggest uprating the clutch, only girls launch a car at 3500rpm.maybe one day youll be in the small percentage of subaru owners who can drive.

4300rpm seems to work for me....you know when you've got it right...when all hell brakes loose and your head just get pinned into the seat with that crushing feeling.
