Wouldn't it have been easier and less confusing to give a link to the "other" BBS, rather than copying and pasting?

Default Time to finish this

IMHO

I think it'd be fair to say that all of us hate the idea of someone being killed in a crash, and ours sympathy goes out to this guys family and friends...... who ever a person is and whatever they have done someone somewhere will be grieving for them and they have our deepest sympathy.

It is also fair to say however that the guy was trying to evade the police for some reason or other and in this endeavour he killed himself, the police are here for our protection (and other peoples) and as much as the P*ss some of us off it's there job. If you try and avoid being stopped by them you are breaking the law and you have at that moment broken your contract with society (to be law abinding and generally a civilised nice person) and are effectively on your own, with only three outcomes.

1) You get away with it
2) You get caught
3) Something goes horribly wrong

This guy ended up with number three.

Horrible and a crying waste of a life, even though he may have been reckless and foolish by the sound of it, no one will ever know what he MAY have brought to society, cure for the common cold, cure for cancer etc. etc. it is just a shame that someones own actions (and he was the one that decided to try and outrun the police) deprived society and his family from seeing what have may have achieved.

But in the end it was his choice and his family must live with it, and as other people have said it is a blessing that no-one else was involved, since that would have put a whole different emphasis on his escapades.

He chose, he tried, he died....... same choices we all make day in and day out, it just depends on what you try and do.

He ran, he crashed, his fault.

Judging by his previous antics he was an accident waiting to happen anyway, so the only good thing to come out of this is that he didn't kill anyone else at the same time.

I don't know the full circumstances under which this happened, but two thoughts spring to mind:

1. Someone was killed in a car accident and that's a shame. Esp for their friends and family who -irrespective of the circumstances of the crash- deserve some sympathy.

2. It was in an Impreza, which does the car no favours in terms of public, or perhaps more importantly, insurers opinion. Also a shame.

As for what gives me the right, well the fact that someone has posted this thread means they wanted our comments - its a free country and I can type my opinions on here - and quite honestly not care one hoot if they upset the odd fruitloop or two...
he did stop for the police and then was followed by a "unmarked" car.

now i dont know about you guys but if i was just pulled by the police n been pnc'd.

it would of been notified on the radio that the driver of the subaru in this area is lagit, there for informing other officers around that area of his pressence to avoid him being pulled again and wasting police time.

i know i certainly would be suspicious of the car behind me and would of pulled away as quick as i can AFTER JUST BEING PULLED.how the **** was he supposed to know if it was a unmarked police car or theif.

ITS JUST COMMEN SENSE THAT YOU THINK BEFOR YOU OPEN YOUR MOUTH WHICH ALOT OF YOU HAVE NOT DONE.

So ffs let the guy R.I.P.

SOME Of THE THINGS THAT HAVE BEEN SAID ABOUT THIS MAN ARE JUST HEARTLESS AND COLD.

I suppose he probably did have something to hide, in my opinion this is the only reason that someone would want to avoid the police. You would have to be pretty stupid to run because you are sick of them stopping you because if you run it only makes it worse.

Quite frankly if someone had to loose a life because of such actions then as sad as it is I would rather it be the driver (he's prepared to take the risk) than a pedestrian who happened to be crossing the road.

Assuming his actions were not as a result of his mental state, whatever he had to hide, was it really worth loosing your life over.

Do you really honestly think that every time the police stop a nice car, or any other car for that matter - they radio round with that info

So ffs let the guy R.I.P.
Of course let him rest in peace. He is doing so because he made a bad choice which could have been soo much worse. Fortunatly, he is the only one who paid the price!!!!

"i know i certainly would be suspicious of the car behind me and would of pulled away as quick as i can "

why? stupid idea that often is suggested by the anti car jack people.

a car behind you is NO DANGER to you as long as it stays there, if you are worried about being follwed then drive somewhere safe.....speeding off is stupid with no positive expected outcome.

I must firstly say its never good to hear about a death. Once again my thoughts go out to the family and i am sure its going to be a hard time for them all.

Secondly from whats been said its all very strange, i get pulled regularly over the past 3 years due to my age and the cars i drive. I got breathalized 5 times last year just because i was on the road at 2am in the morning and the coppers enjoyed pulling me every week to check out my car. Now after being pulled i can safely say even though i had not done anything wrong the rest of that night i NEVER crossed the speed limit to be safe.

It sounds a bit strange reading that he booted it off after being pulled... I am sure there is probably more the story than that.

Why not just turn around and lead the questionable car following you to those nice police officers? YOU KNOW WHERE THEY ARE! And they are there to help you - unless you've got something to hide...

The press reports seem quite clear: he was pulled, he ran, he died. As others have said: sympathies to his family; thank God the innocent are now safe from this dangerous driver.

Hasnt happened to me like that - got the producer off a traffic car was then searched for drugs by unmarked CID - one was a 'evenin all this your car son' and one was a 'evenin all any drugs I can give you a receipt for'...
If I'm being 'followed' by a car that doesnt have the word police emblazened across it and was in fear of my safety I would phone the police or drive to a local police station if I knew there was one near by - thats not rocket science now...
Anyway let the lad and this thread rest in peace zzzzzzz

Ignore what the police spokeswoman say, rizzy says there was an unmarked car chasing him off the road.

I started the thread before the newspapers were printed, hence the incorrect information regrading the marked / unmarked car and the colour of the car.

thats hear say for you.

think we can put this one to bed, RIP Andy hope your at peace with your decisions

they happen all the time NOT

thats the original post most people read ,

Impeza driver dies in police chase near royston
Anyone know anything about the man who died after crashing his car after being pursued by the police.

Supposedly pulled over and showed his documents then the unmarked police car followed him and he sped off and crashed at great speed near royston.

i automatically thought (HE WOULD OF THOUGHT HE WAS GETTIN JACKED IN AN 02 SCOOB
