When did it become acceptable in this country for a man to go from being a rugged, wild haired, beef jerky eating badass to a well-groomed, "metrosexual" girly-boy like Ben Affleck?

Affleck recently agreed to be a spokesman for L'Oreal, with L'Oreal quoted as saying "Ben embodies a new generation of men who show their strength in their personality but are not afraid to care for their appearance."

Afraid of taking care of their appearances? It's not that we're afraid you ********, it's that we don't menstruate.

What next? Men getting hormone injections so they can breast feed?

"Ben embodies a new generation of men who show their strength in their personality but are not afraid to breast feed their children."

Is it okay that I don't have a sense of style?

Is it okay for me to scratch myself? I'm hairy.

I like wearing hair wild and I don't want to be told how to dress by some dude with a "queer eye."

Is that okay with you sissies, or would you like me to package my ***** and neatly carry them in a purse?

For crying out loud.

Clinique has chemicals in it so I stay away, Lush do a very good one for men, I HAVE to use it after I shave otherwise I get large dry patches on my face which are rather off putting.

Can't beleive I'm posting this on a public board but I use Decleor

For years I suffered with flaky dry skin and it can get quite embarassing

My wife asked me to give in and try some Decleor products and you wouldnt beleive the difference it made after a couple of days.

It was basically an oil which is rubbed into the skin after showering followed by a very small amount of moisteruiser (very concentrated apparently) on the face, neck and forehead.

Its quite expensive compared to your high street stuff like Nivea etc but for me it has been well worth it.

Not sure but I think it can only be bought in stores like Selfridges (think the wife buys the specials on QVC)

Also the balm to use after shaving is fantastic. May be on here somewhere http://www.decleor.co.uk

Now, time for something manly

Think I'll go and spit!!!!

Some men that have worn make up - some of which are significantly better off than Mr. Lewis:

Eddie Izzard
Gene Simmons (In fact ALL members of KISS)
Ozzy Osbourne
Pretty much every actor in TV/Film

As a woman I can honestly say I'd rather see a man use moisturiser than have dry flaky skin.....

Though I do have to bow to the fact that there are many men on here far better advised on moisturisers than I am - and that makes me feel somehow inadequate as a woman......

Best daily moisturiser is Lab Series MultiHydroxy complex, which also has a built in UV screen to stop the ageing effect of the sun.

Clinique is full of chemicals, but their aloe shave gel is top.

If you want to go 100% natural, buy Dr Haushka from Space NK.

Hear my words.

As for skin care and other toiletries go I've always found Cliniques range of products to be very effective. They offer a great shaving range and the 'scruffing' lotion is very effective at giving ones skin a really fresh feeling. Scent wise I quite like some of the Kenzo products. I use Gaultier 'Le male' in place of the usual chav-tastic deodorants.
As far as looking good in general goes I reckon an hours vigorous exercise a day gives you an internal healthy glow that no amount of grooming could ever replace- get your running shoes on!

I prefer exercise with a bit of adrenalin, so I stick to mountainbikes. Running also affects my knees.

I then temper the adrenalin with 1-2hours of yoga every / every other day.

Also swimming twice a week, and two saunas / cold showers a week.
