Being in the business, I managed to find other images of the youngster from the ultrasound machine. It looks like there is a potential Scooby driver in there!

The ring thing AKA dowsing.
I always get mixed up the way the thing swings but you can't do it on yourself, you need to get another person/partner to do it. Get them to start the ring swinging backwards and forwards over your held out hand, this will allow them to get a basemark on the way the pendulum swings with (& it depends on the sex of the person doing it as well). Once you've established whether it swings back/forward or round/round with you, then continue to swing in that direction over the bump. If it is a girl, it will continue the same way as for your hand & if it is a boy, it will do the opposite swing type.
I wouldn't say it's entirely acurate but it is an amazing trick. Also try it on other things and maybe have a "blind test" on objects under cloth, the way/reasoning I work is if it is good for you it'll swing one way, if bad the other. Start with something good like fruit to get the benchmark and then test various things such as **** and other foodstuffs.
Another fun thing to try is to start a pendulum swinging and have various friends of different sexes put their hands under it. It will change depending on what sex has their hand underneath.

Blimey brings back memories, still have the ultrasounds of my 3 boys (10, 12 and 14 now). They are very clear.

Fantastic scan photos claire.
It makes such a difference actually seeing the baby doesn't it!
I got so exited when I saw mine for the first time.
Couldn't wait but was so scared at the same time!

its very strange to see i must admit, but it makes you think,
apparantly its to do with magnetic fields the body generates, one way for the men and another for the woman,
we used to do it on the mrs, it would swing one way r/r all over her but would have a fit and change direction u/d when it hit the bump.
and it was a boy !!
