Labour historically have had socialist under pinnings, personally I think they are still there, just well hidden. In general socialism is about the re-distribution of wealth, and so the less well off with tend to vote that way. The Conservatives are more about free markets and the generation of wealth and again, the better off will tend to support this view. There are always exceptions for sure, but in general it's not too far from the mark.

I always liked the fact that Winston's library didn't have the usual volumes of Socrates, speeches by Pliny and the like. The 1960 AA member's book and a volume of jokes for after-dinner speeches stick in my mind.

No option for Greens? Having consulted heavily with people on here and everywhere else I have decided that the only way I can reconcile the fact that I 'ought to vote' with my over riding belief that the main parties are all a bunch of lying, cheating scum bags, is to vote Green.
The other incentive to vote was finding out that the Polling Station is right next door to my local! Polling Stations in pubs and a free pint with each ballot paper seems a good way to ensure a high turnout!

The greens claim Labour will build more nuclear power stations, well that's one good thing if they get back in to power I guess.
Wonder who is going to pay for the massive increase in dole scroungers?
Righty ho
It's not so much a dependency as a personal choice and freedom. A car gets you from A to B, when you want without having to go via C & D, change 3 times and spend the next 4 hours picking chewing gum out of your trousers.
At least it's one less vote for Labout
The Green Party will rebuild the welfare state through the introduction of universal benefits

Whilst I have no doubt that me and my family and my retired parents would be better off under the intrinsically more fair and even handed Tories...I just couldnt do it when it came to putting that X down They were just such tossers last time they were in - admitedly less than the present government, but tossers none the less.
Best I get my cheque book out now then and downgrade the foreign holiday to somewhere cheaper in Europe. I'll need to focus on helping some poor unfortunate out by working that little bit harder so they can lie in that little bit longer before heading off to claim their benefits... Lefties - pahh, lets level society up not down - and I just voted for lefties >confused; proper choice lacking!!!!!<<< Arghhh!
