I do however have an old switch in the garage - I'll report back when I've got it in bits

Hi Scooby Towers

Its all of the switches (front and rear fogs, rear heated screen, hazards and headlamp adjuster) that I'd like to change from green to blue, if its possible

Basically I want to change the whole of the dash illumination to blue, but dont want to bother if the switches are still going to shine green.

Cheers

Yep - They all use white bulbs but some have a rubber cover that fits over the bulb to give its colour - ie the fog light "on" bulbs, which use a orange rubber cover.

I've seen two types of the same switch though. Some have a green rubber cover over a white bulb, the other rely on the green on the switch face.

Not knowing which switch came from which car (exchange service I used to provide) its hard to say what model year had the sleeved type.

There's a link to switch striping instructions in this thread - have a look what type you have.
Shout if I can help further - I've still one or two of each left in the garage.

Cheers mate

Do you think it would be safe to put blue leds in the switch, or hunt around for some blue rubber covers (if they exist )

You could try the blue LED's
Try a comparison on the Maplin site - part number for the white bulbs is BT43W
