My car pops quietly - when the fuel ignites on hitting the sports cat. It doesn't flame, as the fuel doesn't get to the backbox.
If you have a full de-cat, it seems to be a bit of a lottery as to whether you get flames or not, based on the people that have posted here.

'Bouncing off the limiter' is a bad thing. AFAIK it works by cutting fuel and thus detting. I'm sure someone will be able to confirm it/correct me.
