I'm 47, thinnish and reasonably fit for my age I suppose, but I have to have the bugeye sports seat with airbag set on max. height, the back upright and me sitting close to the wheel to feel comfortable. When my wife changed it to a slightly reclined position and I drove it without adjusting seat back to upright, it felt really wierd driving in this position, like I wasn't in control. If anything, I could do with even more support in the lower back area - the rally seats that really snug you in are the best I have ever sat in.

I'm 6'2 and also like a very upright driving position, but I have a WRX SL (05) with Sunroof and leather, I find If I have my seat as upright as I would ideally like my head just touches the head lining.

So I do get back ache, and my knee has to rest on the door even with the seat all the way back.

So all in all not the most comfortable car i've ever owned

99 Classic me. Yes upright seating position, as rally drivers, for road. I find seats fine. Mrs Vegescoob didn't. So I got a local car upholstery company to make a foam filled pad to make the backrest more vertical. Hold it on with velcro. She's now happy

I used to have a MY03 WRX and found the seats very good (on local and long journeys). Upgraded to a MY03 STi and have found the seats to be very uncomfortable on long journeys - just can't seem to get a comfy driving position...

They do look better on the STi though

Wink

The back seats can be fun too, in most positions.

Ive got short legs (29inch) and a long back = 6.05. I find the seat brilliant, trouble is though if you have your seat recline to much, your sholders are not actually on the seat, as you will compensate by sitting forward. Adjust the recline on your seat until you are concious of not tensing your stomach muscles, then you have it.
