Its very expensive for what you get, considering its what? nearly 50k new compared to the standard M3 which is 37k (oh and they depreciate faster than an STi )

I would agree with that comment Tony, however second hand they are coming into reachable territory for most and I would think that most of the depreciation is gone. You cant say that about a scoob now can you

BTW, if anyone comes across my old car CK02 CNY, it has the wrong rear windscreen in! Long story but the useles muppets at Autoglass fitted a standard WRX screen (no aerial) after the original was shattered by a loose stone, and I could not find the day or so needed to have the correct one refitted. Uninsured, I think the cost to replace is £400 and somehow I forgot to mention this on trade-in.
Otherwise it is an excellent car, very well looked after, and given my trade-in price is a bit of a bargain!

It is meant to be pretty good. I'm yet to try it in the CSL so can't give a personal opinion.
As a general rule:
2/3 of me thinks it takes a chunk of the experience away.
1/3 is nagging away, trying to convince me it adds something.

Sorry, no pics as I left my digital camera at my parents house by mistake and I won't be back for another couple of weeks.
However it looks like any other CSL - silver grey with CSL alloys. In fact it's identical to this:

Just getting used to the SMG - faster gear changes for sure, but it does feel like you're driving a playstation sometimes. Although the stakes are a little higher of course. And I can't deny that I do miss having a clutch.

Just checked that site and if it's correct then most high end scoobs shouldn't have too much of a problem beating it off the line....
Performance
Acceleration 0-62 mph s: 4.9
Top Speed mph (km/h): 155 (250)
Fuel Economy EPA city/highway mpg (l/100 km): 16/24 (11.9)
Not sure on the Spec C but know the P1 and 22B are around 4.5 secs 0-62, quicker than the CLS if those firgure are correct. Top end 70 - 155 might be another matter thou.

Yes, I think you're right. 0-60 performance figures don't look astonishing for the CSL over an STi. However coming straight out of the STi and into the CSL, I can simply say that the torque, acceleration (and noise) are in a different league. Of course whether this translates into a faster A-B car I don't know - maybe not in the hands of a novice like me. It certainly doesn't flatter your driving like the Scoob. But who cares - for a sense of occasion and experience the CSL wins hands down!
