I'm sorry, not that it should matter, but anybody with less than a Spec C would not see which way a CSL went, at any speeds. Quoting magazine figures does not give a true picture. EVO tested two CSL's on separate occasions, one day they got 62 in 5.2, another day saw 4.5!
SMG is fantasic IMHO, you just need a couple of weeks for it to fully kick in. Check out launch control too. Sun is starting to shine again may be time to put the cups back on!

i know my car was kicking out 350bhp when i had a blast with one at santa pod,i beat the car by a clear second but the csl was starting to pick up pace rather rapidly at this point and i think if it had gone beyond 1/4 mile ,it would have humped me!

LMAO @ this thread. As a package the CSL is awesome. As has been said, GT3 for less money, and more practical. Breath taking perforamance and balance, but can get flustered when things are running close to the edge (on a track), but i am confident this is the FR configeration money can buy !

I think you have to look at the CSL as a pure drivers car. In standard forum the CSL is a more capable car than the Subaru. I take the Nurburgring as my casing point, as its what I know. I have follwed a couple of well driven CSL's in my MY03STi with high (ish) power and im constantly impressed at how well the CSL turns in on corners where my scoob is understeering wildly. They look so damned planted it drives me mad. Pulling out of corners my scoob can sit behind (slipstreaming) up untill about 90-100 where the CSL will pull a length or two. They really are a superb car and something which is on my must have list, along with the 964RS, another massively capable car even if its 13 years old.
I have no doubt that I would be quicker round a circuit in a CSL then in my scoob.
Sorry but if people are only interested in 0-60 or santa pod times then they shouldnt be allowed to buy what I call ''drivers cars'' because they just wont 'get it' anyway.
The other BMW comments also show people's ignorance IMHO. Its like saying Ford build crap cars so no matter what they bring out I wouldnt buy it. Utter toilet

Ok, please don't shout at me, but what are they like to drive around town? I'm presuming not much different to the M3 but for harder suspension and a bit more noise? Dare I say almost practical?

Mind you there is also a video of me hounding one in my 130bhp french clutter around combe well i was trying to hound it.

My old french clutter does ok for itself. Quite suprising when you realise how old the design is.
My best experience with a CSL on the 'ring' was in the scoob where I had a great 3/4 lap with a brit CSL. The guy has done as many laps as me and is a spirited driver. He started out infront and I could hang on behind then he let me pass and tried to hang on behind which he did. The most suprising thing about this guy's driving ability is that he only has one arm !!! Now that is keen............I will never again use the saying I could do that with one arm tied behind my back
