turned out my old evo with the group test between the M3 CSL, the gt3 and the spec c. it seems they were initially overwhelmed by the CSL, but eventually they found it slightly flawed, largely it seems because of the super sticky tyres which allowed you to find superhuman levels of grip but then potentially causing problems at and just over the limit. it would be interesting to know how the car behaves on less specialist rubber, although that is compromising the very essence of the car, bringing it back closer still to standard M3.
having said that, at 40k for a mint 2nd hand example, it is only the cost of a new standard M3 anyway....

The car is obviously more tricky at the limit on the cups but the car is travelling so much faster at this point you have to expect it will bit you quicker. To be honest is you are approaching the cups grip levels on the public road you need to calm down a little
If i have the cups on i will always drive in Mtrack mode, but if i have the pirellis on, on a nice day all traction controls are off.
I have also had the negative camber done on mine which sharpens up the steering no end, but makes the car a little fussy on motorways. Costs around 200 at a dealership

originally meant to be 50 here, but they made 450 hence the higher than expected initial depreciation.
I'm almost certainly getting one. Testing a normal m3 smg next week.

can't put original csl wheels on a non m3 e46. slightly different fitment. Your wheel arches will need extending outwards. Best bet is to get csl rep ones, much cheaper too.

Where can you get these from mate??? I thought they'd be too wide but worth a shot!
I saw a guy before with a CSL but he had normal M3 rims on!! IMHO the CSL's are far nicer!

Yep, selling my toyed with WRX in the classified section on here. Replaced with a lovely, uber-quick M5....without a doubt fastest car i've ever owned - and i can take the inlaws out in at the same time !!!! amazing...lol. Seriously though it's quicker than my F355...0-60, 0-100 and top end....unreal.

The everyday 19's are a pain in the a##e, only really add bling and not as good a ride as the standard 18's, part polished part painted and only about 3 places in the south of England to get dinks repaired as I found to my cost when my wife kerbed both nearside 19's on my Cab.
Be wary of buying repaired OEM 19's!
The repair process involves milling the rim back to remove the damage. Do that more than once and you start to get flat spots on the rim plus the OEM wheel has a small plastic M insert, this limits how many times you can mill the rim. Once the M badge is proud, that's it, no more repairs.
