Ozzy, they are known to be very snappy which is why I'm driving it like a total *****! It rained a little last night and I tried to provoke it a little in a controlled environment to get a feel for it but it just gripped and gripped. This leads me to conclude that it would only give up that grip if you nailed it in vtec. The problem here is that its not a healthy amount of torque braking traction but rather a lot of raw power such that traction would likely be overcome and then some as excess energy is committed to the rear. I expect this might be the problem and I also expect that doesn't make much sense. I guess what I'm saying is that in an Zm3 you could use the vast torque to overcome traction by say 10% at low engine speeds which allows a degree of control. In the honda though by the time you react the loss of traction by backing off a little you've probably (because of the high engine speeds and high power produced at those speeds) already overcome traction by 50% such that it might be too late.
That just my initial thoughts. Going to have to find a wide open space to 'play' and get a feel for it. Certainly is fast in a straight line as Mr BMW 330i found out today.....even with the top down drag Everyone wants to race it though! People didn't want to indulge the VTS, people feared the scooby and didn't bother trying, people didn't even notice the pug but I've seen peeps weaving through traffic to have a piece

Fuel I'm not sure about yet but I've filled it up a million times already! I get the impression that vtec uses a heck of a lot more than tootling around off-vtec. I suppose thats good because 30+mpg is there is you want it with relative ease. However, that vtec roar is far too addictive. Its defo better than my scooby and about the same as my 406 at the moment - I guess that is good considering I'm in the honeymoon period.

Hmmm dunno if that description is all that right
Watch the S02's- they grip like a ******* and then go, no tyre squeel then bang, see ya and you have to be on your toes to catch it.
Same with any RWD car, drive like a total cvnt and it will spit you off backwards, some of the snappiness has been dialed out of the 04- cars (suspension geometry and bumpsteer issues, which can be resolved on the earlier cars)

Phil, what kind of elise is that. I hope its not the 111R (189bhp) or else I'll struggle to keep up Are the majority of MK2 elise's you'll see on the road still the 120bhp K-series ones or are most MK2s running the toyota 189bhp engine Just realised I actually don't have a clue about the current range of elise's
