Get some flames painted on your bodywork and references to 'urban racing' tatooed to the paint and the dump valve will complement your motor superbly

Seriously Im in two minds - the sounds great - but it would do my head in after 10 minutes...

the onlt reason for fitting one of these is to increase 'turbo-noise', best way to do that is remove the resonator pipe in the wing go take a look at this;

http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthrea...ht=air+box+mod

Did mine months ago and have had no problems and I like the extra sound you get in the car...

I was a most definate 'pro VTA dump valve person...i love the sound, and i had a 'bailey' one fitted.

As for the chav image, personally i couldnt give a flying fc*k what other people think, its my car, my money and i do what i like ...and personally mate, i think you should do the same ....

and for all those who worry about chav image .....grow up, FFS.!!! You sound like kids.... ooohh, look at them over there ..!!, look what theyve done..!!, look what theyve got..!!, ours is better than yours..!!, thats chav that is..!!

i took my VTA off, about a month ago, and ive noticed a slight increase in mpg.. (im getting better economy) so for now, it'll stay off. but for that reason only. And if i decide to put it back on, then, thats erm, up to me.

You do with your car, as you want......and if it makes you happy, thats all that matters.

Totally agree do what you want,I change between a vta and the o/e re-circ depending on how i feel and where im going or what im going for also comes into what one i have fitted and any one time.
Although i do find the re-circ one gives smoother gear changes

My mate told me this too, that with the VTA DV ure car consumes a little extra fuel.

Since you have a Bailey dump valve matey, can you describe the sound a little as im after a particular DV but dont know which it is

Go for the Stealth FX one - you can change the sound/volume - has to be the ultimate DV!

There's a link on there to listen to what they sound like in action

there are errors on that page but then again it is very expensive

Such price just for a funky sound is very expensive

I was reluctant to pay 90 quid for a Bailey dv lol

for the so called chav image that i couldnt give two stuffs about, The bailey, gives you the psssshhhhh sound, but its not too loud, and when you back off you can hear it throttle the air a bit which i liked. You can just hear it inside the car, so it aint over bearing, and you dont need the music on too loud to drown it out. If it sounds like a ford rs turbo, a second look would make the daft person thinking that, realise that its not an rs, and they need to open their eyes as well as their ears.

for the wannabe perfectionist racing drivers, technically, i had no problems with it ...... and as for sluggish gear changing etc, i wasnt on a wrc rally circuit where 10ths of seconds matter.

mpg (or kmpg), yes, ive noticed a slight improvement without it, maybe 20km's on a full tank. but some of that could be driving style, as i dont drive so i can hear it now.

for my use, i found it perfectly ok ...and for my bank balance, the cost was within my budget.

Some have said, VTA's can cause engine problems, but im not technical enough to agree or disagree, except to say, i had one for 2 and half years without hiccup.

god, gonna get ripped to shreads for this but...........

after watching 2 fast 2 furious (no sniggering at the back!) with the skyline hacking along the road to the street race i thought ' gotta make my car sound like that'

bought a forge VTA and after 5 mins realised my car was never gonna sound like that skyline did so sold it on after just 2 days

only good bit was the odd flame out the back, even better as i nearly burnt the front off a merc that was sitting on my rear bumper strangely enough he backed off after that

when everyone says nay , chavs ,,,,,,,,,,, have em ,,,,,,,,,,,,, to be honest when you say that do you know what a fookin chav actually is , or just jump on the bang wagon and add chav to every single thing you dont like ,,,,,, if you dont like something its chav ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, b4 chav word was popularised do you know what they called a chav (correct term for CHAV it has been around for a long time in the north) NOT ONLY JUST READ ABOUT IN THE PAPER , SO WE ALL CALL EVERYONE A CHAV
it was originally used for twocker aka car thief , or someone who acted like they was black when they was some snotty little white kid , who tucked there trackies into there socks and walked round with a limp like hes just bought it from hard men R us

it seems now that if you have a dump valve your a chav , or lexus rear ur a chav , (which i dont ) but i do have a dump valve , so im a chav now ,

i would actually like to see how half the people look , who call people chav`s , I.e i reckon TOPMAN or NEXT dresser`s , who actually look at what peter andre and the back street boys wear , and think there COOL , (ill also gaurantee your the type you see in middle of winter with there sunglasses on also middle aged , thinkin if miami vice could do it so can i ,)

its so easy to be put into a group , that i hear so many people on scooby calling everything chav about a scooby , it just makes u want sell ur scoob and buy an evo

im sure it must **** a ****load of people off when u hear everything being to chav or not to chav

i think for 'chav' simply read 'tacky'...and when all said and done most of us know where the line is drawn between good and bad taste...fair enough, each to their own, but if 50 people are calling it a spade, chances are its a spade...!

No; they f*ck your fueling and wash your bores; the re-circulating dump valve fitted is best.

I was under the impression that they weakened the fuel mixture which ain't the best thing to do?

No; they allow metered air to be vented to atmosphere; fuel is supplied by the ECU for the amount of metered air expected.

Once again, childish, attention-seeking behaviour is defended in the name of "each to their own".
