Exactly my thoughts as well lol. I think they should shoot anyone over 70 to save on pensions. That way you dont horde money and become a miserable old boring nasty man, with pissy pants. PSLEWIS is that acronym for Pissy Lewis ?

You always go back to childhood references here. Even with other posts, are you a paedophile? Do you have a webcam Mr lewis? Where is Mrs Lewis?

Yes, clearly I'm still here, I've been keeping an eye on the obituary column, but everyone makes mistakes, and they must think you're still alive.

Nice of you to refer back to the car, it's obviously a source of great angst to you that it remains unsold. Please don't worry too much about it, I don't, as I said before, I've moved on to something even faster now. All the better to break all those nasty speed limits with. Can't wait to road test it down your street when it comes back from getting the brakes removed and the engine horsepower doubled. Hopefully you live in a 30 limit, they're the ones I like to break the most.

How's the engineering going?

I'll book a bed for you at the local hospital, "Surgical Removal from Anus of 30MPH Speed Sign"

Hardly, have you ANY idea how many people are getting entertained??

Serious question, before I get under the car - does the splash shield need to come off, or is there a cut-out for easy Oil Change?

I am certain nuts as only done mine once since had it. Stick copper grease on them when you put them back in. At the back I think there are two screws.

A piece of **** to a man of your calibre. Hardest part is getting jack in right place and lining up axle stands, unless you have pit at home or ramps to get up on. Always fancied one of those jacks you can lift whole car up with for diy home use.

I've got a 4 post lift - but I need to use the jack to remove wheels as the bars on the 4-post do not line up with any great support under the car (so I don't risk it)

It will be a heavy duty professional one then. I was thinking of the machine mart ones you can get for around £400 - £500

The MAF went on my MY00, the car was 3 yrs old at the time, low mileage, no induction kit. In fairness there were warning symptoms though.

The mileage was I think around 10-12,000. The symptoms for me were erratic acceleration, if anything the car 'felt' faster at WOT, it would pull very hard and then back off a bit, then pull hard again. The final straw though was the CEL lighting up when I was crawling along the A1 at about 60mph. Had the car looked at by my main dealer who could find no problems or fault codes stored on the ECU. Quick call to BRD who explained it was possibly the MAF, after new one fitted car was like new again!

The MY00 MAF is about £70 to replace and takes no more than 5 minutes, so if you should get suspicious all is not well then best to replace it.

The MY99 and MY00 cars all hesitate at about 3000RPM, mine has done it since new.

I guess the thing is to note any 'difference' in running.

My car never suffered from hesitance before then (although it had been breathed on a bit by Professor Rawle).

When I think back the hesitancy was not particularly subtle.
