As a recent graduate I would say the opposite is true, asians etc have a better chance of getting onto the good graduate schemes because companies are under pressure to employ more minorities. Basically discrimination against whites - race shouldnt be an issue at all, but it seems its ok to discriminate against white people these days

FWIW my test fell over with a number of java exceptions, and I couldn't be bothered to go through it all again

and this means what exactly i have lots of different friends from all creeds, and they all like me, and we all get on, i see it as a benefit that i have all these friends. No survey is going to tell me what i already know about me.

I'm not sure why that was the result of my test, but that's what it said.

sideshowbeaker, Wales is not a "region" in the way that the North West or the Midlands is a region, it is a nation with seperate cultural identity and language. Genetically it can be shown the Welsh people are more homogenous than the English which are made up of original old (Welsh speaking) British tribes, Scandanavians (Vikings), French (Normans), Germans (Saxons) etc. So I would say irrational dislike of Welsh people could be construed as racist. I regard people of all nationalities and races equally, including the English, whatever colour they are

Could this be because at the beginning they condition you to associate white with good and black with bad? I wonder what would happen if they did it the other way around? Because I have a feeling it would show that I had a moderate automatic preference for Black peolple relative to White people!

Well, that was intriguing!

The results of the Five-Minute Racism Test describe me as the following:-

"Your data suggest a strong automatic preference for Black People relative
to White People".

And this is from a white, middle-class, 42 year old male.

While I describe myself as genuinely non-racist, I'm sure that the results
of the test indicate a definite flaw in the validity of the research.

The test relies on the speed of response in categorising good and bad word
associations with white and black faces, juxtaposed on the PC screen,
selected using a couple of keys on the keyboard.

As anyone that has played more than a couple of simple PC-based games can
tell you, the longer that you play something, the faster you get. So, the
test results are skewed by the fact that the participant becomes more
familiar with the test the longer he or she participates.

The fact that the test starts with white=good, black=bad, then progresses to
black=good, white=bad means that the participant is becoming faster in their
response in the latter stages, where black faces are associated with good
words. Hence, the results are automatically biased to the conclusion above.

As such, the result is fundamentally flawed......
