how about you take sum time to study what your "defending"
you cant move them closer to the wing, without grinding away either the guard or the factory side skirt, have you even seen ONE set fitted to a car close up?

they could be seriously decent parts if they fitted properlly, i dont know why thhey dont adjust the mould so they actualy fit like proper parts??

i could take a picture of mine with originals fitted for a comparison, there is about 1mm gap between the guard and wing on the fronts, and i have had mine off 2 times now, once was to colour code, second time was via sum donuts in deep snow

get with the program you knacker
you fooking **** micky, a little common sense is all that's needed, did you read my post i'll do in big letter's so you can read it better,THESE ARE MADE WITH 2 DIFFERENT MATERIAL'S , 1 RUBBER which is FLEXIBLE , 1 RIGID GRP so you can't say they should fit the same ,the orginal's have flex or give in the material when fitting ,the grp one's won't SO if you need to grind sand whatever to get a good fit FFS DO IT it doesn't matter what the inside look's like ,can't really seen the problem ?
how about you take sum time to study what your "defending"
don't need to ,seen orginal's and seen the copies it's just people like you seem to think 2 different material's should fit the same
they could be seriously decent parts if they fitted properlly
they are decent part's IF they ARE fitted PROPERLY
bodyshop tried with a mates
not much of a bodyshop ! hope they don't do crash repair's ?
to be fair, they all fit ****
how can you say that's not a personal attack ?

it looks like my colemans mustard to me
why did you get replica splash gaurds if you had the originals first?

your paying for convienance not a topclass £100 handwash
same point with these splash guards, convenience over Graham goode £300 ones

car looks great, really clean, nice paint work all round

get sum and grind them down and show me how its done, to have them fit properlly there would be nothing left you muppet, how can you tell ME how to fit them, when i have seen them first hand and you have not

LMFAO

what are you bleathering on about diffrent matrials for, the genuine ones dont squish up against the bodywork, the replicas dont fit because there made in the wrong shape, not because there squishy

:muppet mongo alert:

Well uncle **** head , like i keep saying but you keep missing they are made from 2 different material's the orginal's are RUBBER read RUBBER , replica's are GRP read GRP
the genuine ones dont squish up against the bodywork
who said anything about "squishing up against bodywork" ??? The inside of the guard will flex or give more when you push it against the side skirt , so it will be tighter against the wing etc , the replica won't have that "give" because there a lot more rigid
[QUOTE]there made in the wrong shape[QUOTE]
?????????????
How come there were NO ****ty remark's about the gljam's mate's c/f 22b vent's that come with NO fixing's or underneath part just top section ???

gljam's
cost me just over £80, they needed a bit of work to get them fitting properly and you need to bond them to the bonnet
i asked "why do you have to bond to bonnet" ???
gljam said it is literally just the vent,
there are no bolts moulded in to fit to the bonnet
What was YOUR remark's on that , **** all but
bond a few bolts in and bolt it down properlly
THAT WAS IT for £80 vent's that have NO underneath part just top part , attach your own fixing's, and need a bit or work to fit ,
two faced get , you rabbit on about these guard's but nothing about these overpriced "bond on vent's"

that fact that your throwing insults left right and centre, means IMO you have allready lost the battle "DJ"

you dont know what your talking about, i doubt you have even fitted any kind of splash guards at all, tell me, have you even fitted genuine ones before?

the inside of the guard gives??

dont be stupid, if that were the case it would constantly be trying to force itself off the car, working against the bodywork tape that holds it on in the first place, come back to me when you actually have fitted sum splash gaurds in the first place?

i did actually know that the 2 diffrent gaurds are made from diffrent things, after all i have actually undertaken the job in hand more then once?

i have held with my own hands a copy guard in my hand and offerd it up to my mates car, i have then decieded that it is no good, i have built one off front bumpers previous, i have "blended" kits in the past, i used to work in a fooken bodyshop

i will spell it out for you once again, to fit them "properlly" would
IMO require this

guard needs ground down inside by about 5mm this will effect the join to the sideskirt reduceing its curve (the part you actually see where it joins the skirt) this will then leave a "thin" section visible to the eye, you would then need to build up the outside edge to compensate, you could grind away the skirt, but this is not that thick, to have the guard fit the wing you would end up with a guard which was actualy flush with the skirt

or you could remould the top of the guard to give it more legnth so it would meet the wing,

or you could do what i figure a "pro" like yourself would do

fit it, pack the gaps with tiger seal and paint over the lot on the car or maybe whack a load of self tapers in to hold it as close as poss and bodge over the lot, then whack sum paint on

mind the insults, you might start running out of them b

Sorry Stiver,
that fact that your throwing insults left right and centre, means IMO you have allready lost the battle "DJ"
what's these then [QUOTE]you knacker,you muppet[:muppet mongo alert: /QUOTE] why call me then ?
i doubt you have even fitted any kind of splash guards at all, tell me, have you even fitted genuine ones before?
No i haven't fitted them, i took them 3 of them off as the wife "lost one" and swapped them for a fairing
the inside of the guard gives??
yes imo the whole guard it self is not hard or rigid so you have "give" in the material
dont be stupid, if that were the case it would constantly be trying to force itself off the car, working against the bodywork tape that holds it on in the first place
yes but also with the tape what's the 2 "bolt's" for then ??? could be to hold them in place ?
i have built one off front bumpers previous, i have "blended" kits in the past, i used to work in a fooken bodyshop
"Well done Chip Foose" but if you can do "all that" WHY make such a big deal over these ? and NOT say much over the "£80.00 STICK-ON vent's" which are easy to make compared with these ?
mind the insults, you might start running out of them
it's ok sara's got more , mind your's as well
i thought the originals were made from a dense foam plastic
could be but they feel rubbery to me ? either material it's got "give" not like grp
Sorry once again Stiver see you tomorrow Mikey

i have taken a pic of my original splash guard

i can squeeze it in my hand, it is very soft and i can see double sided tape on the inside and 3 bolt holes, there is nothing inside it apart from dirt. is mine the original one, it came with the car

my work here is done

they dont fit, its simple as that
originals do fit

copies require FAR to much work IMO to make them fit like "real" ones, sum people only like to fit "fake" parts when the illusion is that the are infact "real"

others just like to fit fake parts as they cant justify fitting the proper ones due to cost, would you buy a fake scooby that looks like a real one but upon closer inspection it needed ground down and filled to make it look right ?
suppose its like buying a smashed up car cheap and putting it right, its never going to be as good as the real thing, no matter how well you tart it up, sumbody will always be able to tell

originals do fit
they don't on sara's car ?
sum people only like to fit "fake" parts when the illusion is that the are infact "real",, ALSO,,,others just like to fit fake parts as they cant justify fitting the proper ones due to cost,
like someone fitting "replica P1 light cover's"
suppose its like buying a smashed up car cheap and putting it right, its never going to be as good as the real thing, no matter how well you tart it up, sumbody will always be able to tell
it depend's on HOW smashed up doesn't it ,???? and WHO repair's it
your going to the extreme now trying compare a smashed up motor to replica guard's

they don't on sara's car ?
fitment error, probably sum kind of silicone or other kind of foreign matter stopping the guards from sticking to the bodywork, were they glued on or put on with good bodywork tape?
like someone fitting "replica P1 light cover's"

i did not pay for mine, sumbody gave them to me for free, i had crashed my car and was buying parts to update the front end, make of that what you will, i did sort them out" before they were painted they cost me nothing, i would not have paid for them, unless they were very, very cheap.

next question??
