If it's teeth, getting soluble stuff can help (eg Solpadeine)... you get a little local effect by swilling it around your mouth, apparently.

Well the 2x30mg Codeine phosphate is pretty good for a night time dose before bed....not so good in the day though as it nearly puts me to sleep/knocks me out ![EEK!](images/smilies/eek.gif)
Nurofen capsules are good for the daytime...but they do upset my stomach.
Saw dentist this afternoon....had an absess, now drained and on antibiotics too.....
