As I said before this had nothing to do with me. Not everyone has time to contact a user after each RTM.

What about a great deal on CD-RW's? would that be frowned upon as DiskDepot sponsors the Computer Related section?
If a company provides a good service no matter who they are the place for this is in dealers and third party as I previously said. The other forums are not the place for this.

If you personally polish your car with turtle wax then that isn't considered commercial because no-one is going to buy turtle wax from anyone on here so they wouldn't benefit from free advertising.

I don't think there is but if you have so much time then why don't you suggest it.

I thought the job of a moderator was to look after the forums and advise members where & when they post inappropriate material/comments. (after all I run my own club forum and have moderators and used to moderate ScoobyCity forums)

If there "isnt enough time" to advise members on 'bad' threads/posts then more moderators are required.

Come on, how long does it take to PM some1?
Some of the moderators on this board do have a busy personal life It can be hard for them to find time to compose a PM as well as deal with it. I know it's not the answer but please remember that none of us are paid to do this and aren't on 24/7 call. We do try our best and have to take our role on here as seriously as our jobs, on here we are never off duty.

I think this was deemed as ADVERTISING and resulted in the thread being DELETED

Paul,
Not a problem, I will suggest it on the thread in policy I think it'd benefit the community to know where we stand.

I know the mods have a busy life, I understand that, however, if they have the time to delete a thread, surley they have the time to send a quick little pm/email? how long does it take to send a quick pm saying "email me about why your thread was deleted" then they can deal with when less busy.

That or just post a quick thread in the moderators forum saying that the thread was deleted, just so other mods have a heads up on what's going on.

Paul,

For clarity, are you now saying that endorsements of work undertaken and or products supplied by non authorised advertisers will no longer be allowed on Scoobynet?

No I am not saying that at all. There is a place specifically for this and it's dealers and third party.

If you want to discuss these issues anymore then please can someone start a thread in policy rather than hijacking this thread anymore.

Thanks

Sorry Paul, no hijack intended.

Perhaps an answer to the question raised in policy would help

Red face This board is getting very PC!!!!!!!!!!

Yes I'm going to rant. (not at you paul)

I am from what they call 'old skool'. I have been on this board for about 4-5 yrs. I can honestly say Scoobynet has gone downhill. Back then we all appreciated what we heard from other people as we all want to know what products/tuning parts for there cars were best and what got good all round results. It now seems as soon as you mention someone elses product it gets deleted or even if you have a strong opinion of something your thread/post gets locked.

What happened to "THE SUBARU COMMUNITY"?????

I'll tell you where, They have all gone to the "other" forum where they can have a sensible thread and post there with useful comments where ideas and views are far more appreciated.

As for the "free advertising" crap, that is just an excuse.
Dear oh dear what a world we live in. I'm going over to SIDC forum

We've hijacked this thread enough. There is a thread here in the policy forum that explains why the original thread was deleted. Might be better to post any comments on there instead.
