ScoobyShootout - micklehead & walton peeps

Well, a great day out for all 5 people who attended from this area... loads of steak and other hot food courtesy of Julian, Pretty good weather for racing - not too hot and rain kept off most of the day.
Some fast motors there today, not just scoobies ( although at least 4 of these got under 11 second 1/4's ... 10.63 I think was th ebest in the final for Steve Darley ( P20SPD ) in I belive Mark Aigin's car ( Trout's old one ? ). Pavlo made it to the final too, but we lost Andy F some where before the final .. I don't kow why!
Nice to meet some old SNET faces, and some well known new ones, hope you all had a good day too!
Me ... Near 1.5 second better on the quarter over last year ( 13.2 secs ) and nice 11 mph higher ( 109 mph ) terminal velocity over last year's ... but still not into the 12's .. think it's the driver ...
Roll on TOTB ( I'm not competing ) or next Shootout!

I'm not that mad!
Nice wheels mate.. if Julian hasn't sold them ... he had to swap drivers on way home as he was asleep on m'way! Hard to tell difference I know tho!!
If I was less mechanically sympathetic, (Or rich!) and had higher rev limit and more unburstable bottom end / gear box, I should knock 0.5 secs off my times, but costs £££ as would next power hike ( Hybred FMIC, TD05/06 turbo, 300zx MAF and 3 bar map and remapping ) easy over £2k !

What car were you in Vulnax999, not the chaved up 3 series BMW? As might have a few picks if I know which one?
My lad was disapointed when he realised we could have entered but seeing a couple look like they threw their big-ends, not sure i've got the bottle or cash for that. Just put the kids to bed, both said it "Thanks for a great day out". Mind you they've already started asking when the NBO is...
cheers

Evenin' Seanks...
Come along to the Micklehead pub meet at the edge of St.Helens in a couple of weeks?
Glad you enjoyed it, was a good day, weather held up mostly and some serious beasts there... but normal light modded scooby would do OK and not really going to do any / much damage - just a hard launch and then drive it to its best, not aware of any going out for big blow ups ( maybe one gearbox transfer gears went, and one other towed in but no major ones )
Never in a B u M W... and certainly NEVER CHAVVED up !!!!
Dark Blue Wagon, parked in front of a red astra estate ( service car with barbeque set up ) car 526.
Ran against Mr. Wallis and won ( ok, he pulled over half way along with a problem!!! ) and Pavlo ( who came 2nd IIRC ) who whipped past me half way along !!!

we have now released (at long last!) the dvd from last year's Scoobyshootout at Elvington, its on our www.totb.co.uk website shop at £11.99 incl vat.
feedback from people who purchased it on sunday at Elvington has been great, it features all the action from last years event, plus interviews with the scooby owners, the shootout finals and a bonus section with in-car 200mph footage from inside the Calder Supra.
cheers
