Ahhhrr - Black Cars

At risk of being labelled an "****" Subaru owner and honestly i do actually drive the car.. But, does anyone have suggestions as to the best "procedure" to wash a car without getting swirls etc ?
I'm not looking for concours levels of shine, but would like to avoid the swirls as much as pos.

Wash the car with a wash cloth instead of a sponge !
Also dry the car with a towel washed without conditioner rather than a chamois
both of thse can the be machine washed after each use & wont contain grit & dirt !
Also dont wash the car with a circular motion instead use a back & forth one !

Anyone else regret buying black, or perhaps have some tips about keeping the bloody things clean ?

Worth the effort when it looks like this
