Anybody fancy looking at some sandcastles after the show????????
11 miles down the road is the World Sand Sculpture Festival - On Brighton Beach!
One event you wouldn't expect to find on the Brighton social calendar is the World Sand Sculpture Festival!
That, however, is exactly what you're going to get when ten thousand tons of special sand are shipped from the Netherlands and deposited in Brighton Marina so that 60 artists from all over the world can recreate the wonders of Ancient Egypt.
Organisers say that the sculptures, made entirely from sand and water, will remain intact whichever way the wind blows — up to force 7.
The highlight of the festival, which runs from July 14 to September 11, will be a 50ft-high pyramid. Sphinxes, mummies, temples, Rameses II and Tutankhamun himself will all be sculpted, in what promises to be an amazing exhibition of craft and skill.
The World Sand Sculpture Festival is at Black Rock, Madeira Drive. Open daily 11am-8pm. Adult - £6, Child up to 4 years - free, Child 4 - 12 years - £3.50, conc. - £5

Keef69: I don’t mind paying for something if it’s good value, the wife (Nicola) saw it on the television and asked how far it was from Hickstead, the most expensive part of the day for me is the optimax bill, So I wondered if it was worth a look, seeing we were so close (11miles).
From the pictures it looks like a lot of work has gone into producing this.

Thought it would be nice late afternoon/evening to have a stroll along the sea front.
Has anybody seen it or had feed back??

Hickstead IMHO Is not one of the better shows of the year but rude not to show your face as it organised by JapMag , That means Pictures
But as the Scoobydaddy Has said we are only 11 Miles from Brighton Front
So im thinking show , Bbq , Head of mid afternoon , Brigton Seafront , Sandcastles , Ice creams , Fish & Chips , Maybe a Do nut , The heading home early Evenining
Spec C 57 We need to tie up a Time with you & Lin matey

I was going to go, but I've had a row with the missus, I'm p1$$ed off, it's 02:50, and just got back after a rag round some country lanes to try and calm down, the pagid fast road pads are crap, I've started smoking and I've had enough. Probably too angry now to sleep, so would never get up on time for the morning.
sorry, rant over, have a good day people

Sorry to hear about the row......I guess the Hickstead meet would have been the ideal place to stay
I got there at 6.30, though a bout of Italian food from last night gave the command to retreat......
Not well at all
