Yep, had a late 1.8GL for 8 years, 120k miles, and yes rarely got much better than 32 even on a run, thats on ordinary unleaded and cruising a little slower

Just did a run from Plymouth to Slough and back, 442 miles in all, on a single tank of fuel!! Only thing was, i did an average of 55-60 mph. Boring, I know, but i felt like a gentle drive rather than the usual "Can't anyone keep up" type run..... Running a MY00 UK Turbo with Magnex downpipe and Scorpion b/box. Still, i reckon that's pretty good mpg....

sounds excellent to me, I recently completed a trip with a round trip mileage of just under 300 miles. just scraped it on full tank at 65/70.

Guess that extra 10MPH makes all the difference. just wish i had cruise control when driving at those speeds.

Good call on the cruise control...Do any older models have it? (I've a 94 WRX JDM)

I've a courtesy car at the mo (Scooby ready for next week apparently! ) and that's got C Control...will really miss not having that again in Scooby!

I've done 350 to a tank - driving at an indicated 80mph down from up north. Was quite pleased with that. I normally get about 245 to a tank using the car going daily to work and back ( Basingstoke to Maidenhead - A33 and M4 each day)

Cheers all

Michael

my scoob is now my second car, since I put on a bigger turbo I have never got over 200 miles out of a tank only drive the thing on the weekend and always needs filling up

But out of the 30k on the clock I can't have done more than 4k of those on a motorway - theres always a better way than a motorway or is that just me... the missus goes mad planning trips via A and B roads

All the newish scoobs get really good mileage.... the further you go back the worse the mpg gets. I had a slightly tweaked series mcrae impreza on a 95 plate that got only 180miles-maximum to a tank. Now have a P1 that is faster and i get around 200miles to a tank. Bearing in mind that is running on 98ron shell optimax!!! (as we ALL should be doing!!!) ..... anyone filling at a tesco petrol station should be shot!!!

I usually put £20 at a time in my 02 WRX which gets about 22 litres of Optimax, this gives me between 100 and 120 miles depending on how hard I push it.My 98 Turbo Wagon used slightly more fuel than the WRX.

Look, Lewis. All these chaps enjoying their cars.

Doesn't congratulating yourself about your ridiculous fuel economy and 60,000-mile brake pads seem really, really hollow at the moment?

in the early wild days i would get about 140 - 150 oput of a tank but since the wow factor of stepping up from a *cough*saxo *cough* has worn off i now get around the 220 mark which is as many as the saxo used to do on £3 per tank less so quite happy

In my old STi IV I managed over 300 to a tank a couple of times.
In the new one I sart to get nervous around the 200 mile mark.

Needs a bigger tank

£45 of optimax = full tank = 185 miles.
