That would be the guy in the Bentley Continental GT who appeared behind other half one day on a country road.
Other half was driving "briskly" (as the yanks call it!) but not flat out foot to the floor.
Bentley driver remained a polite, respectful distance behind & seemed quite happy 2 just follow along.
He obviously knew his car was superior in every way but as they were already going at a good & reasonable pace, felt absolutely no need 2 rub other half's nose in it!
Have found same thing with TVR's, Porsches etc., generally the better the car, the less of an attitude!

I bet you find that most people than can afford the top top motors, all probably have a scooby parked up in the lock up for a bit off fun at the weekend.

I know i would still have a scooby even if i won the lottery, she would remain, although that might be the time to upgrade to a 22B or something alike.

Driving through Kidderminster yesterday in my mates GTC I stopped for petrol (thank Christ for his fuel card! )

Group of spotty chavs at the next pump with their equally spotty (and probably underage) girlfriends putting £3 of unleaded in the Nova. Chav walks past me and says fellow chav "That's one of them new Chevvys innit"

I was very close to actually pissing myself there and then on the forecourt

im 18. can only afford to put £3 in some times. costs me that to get to town and back.
keep having chavs having a go at my car. ill be looking in the mirror to the chaved escort behind. the chav usually laughing and pointing at my car and probly saying to the chavette "haha look at that funny pink old car".
Always fun to put that 2ltr straight six into 1st, fishtail off the lights and leave them in a cloud of yokohama a539.

what we talking about again?

I'm not that old really, but when i was 17 just putting £5 in wasnt embarrasing. If you put less than a tenner in now you feel like the petrol attendants think you are skint!

I have been crying with laughter at this thread....I can see both sides ( even though I am nearly 40 ). My middle one ( 18 years old ) has a my00 Fiesta Zetec and thinks it is the bees Knees....I bet If I was his age and had a 5 year old nippy motor I would def think that. I just smile to myself at some of the youngsters cars nowadays. A mate and I ( He has a MY 94 JDM ) parked up at Maccy d's one sat night and we parked either side of a "Chav Mobile " with Neon everything. The kids in the car took it in good spirits though it just seems there are just a few idiots who wanna take the p*ss as there are a few "Scooby" idiots who take the perverbial.

all points are fair in respect of what it was like to be 17 and make your crap Nova or whatever stand out from the crowd even by only putting on pind wiper deflectors people will notice your car more than they would if you didnt have these on.

alos people on other performance car site ie porche, ferrrari, Tvr etc will be saying the same thing about us as we do about the Chavs, unfortunately the impreza is becoming a chav car on earlier models such as JDM, i know, i have a my95 but is more or less standard and i aint no chav but it is nice to take the **** ouuta the ones who deserve it like the nova at the petrol station who revs his engine to see if you will look at his work of art compared with you that went out and bought something that was already fast!

there is no right way to think about this only that you either hate the chavs or respect them for being young and inexperienced!

cheers

Mickey
