I've got the book Rich Dad, Poor Dad. (Fat lot it seems to have done me so far )

It says there's a basic difference in mentality. Poor Dad encourages his son to study hard to get to work for a company. Rich Dad encourages his son to work hard to buy companies. I think that's strikingly true.

I feel like i can give both sides to this, I graduated and went directly into employment (IT) ended up contracting in London for good money but 0 quality of life, was living on my Dads floor as I couldn't afford to live in london and was commuting home at the w/e. I then decided that it wasn't all it was cracked up to be so have now been working abroard for a ski/windsurfing company for the last 2 and a half years, I have been earning less a week and working even more hours than I was a day in my old job but the quality of life is through the roof! Wasn't just me either, one of my best friends from working there was a stock broker who sacked it off for a better way of life. Unfortunatly I feel that it is when I come home I start to get the materialistic urges to have a nice car, own place etc. I have reached 25 now and am aware that I can't keep doing what i am forever as i need to start boring things like pensions and get on the property ladder, but I have got loads more out of what I have been doing than if i had stayed in my old job imho
