Spoon it was great talking to you mate, but hey what a boring place it would be if we did not communicate and have friendly banter. Cool. Yes i totally agree with you standards today have really dropped and it is embarrasing. When you look at the avarage shift on duty today at any police station, the most senior officer on patrol probably has only 4 or 5 years in the job, shifts are full of probationers and the skippers are so young in service..they had the gumption to pass an exam and then get made up.

Anyway so much for that, that is another debate. Back on target now for some more NICE OFFICER stuff (If anyone has got some nice Officer stories)

Well, good to see you have wound up the "discussion" in a sensible way.

I have a nice story! (Can't we all just get along) This illustrates why we should have more patrols, perferably one's like Wazza, and less Gatsos. I was comming back from Xtreme on the A12. It was a glorious day and the traffic was rather light. I was generally doing about 70mph, but would occassionally overtake a slower moving vehicle, in doing so, I probably reached about 85mph on occasion. I was new to the Scooby at the time and was just enjoying its performance under what I deemed to be appropriate and safe conditions.

In the rear view mirror I saw a police car gaining on me. Whoops. I backed off a brought my speed down to around the limit. The police car just stayed a safe distance behind me. Then at one of the junctions a Mini Cooper s came roaring down the slip road at what I estimate to have been 100mph+ and joined the A12 and cut straight in front of me without even so much as an indicator, whereupon he shot off into the distance. At this point or at some point before the police patrol would have been within their rights to stop me. Instead, they went after the Mini, giving me a broad grin and thumbs up on the way past.

Why? Well, I won't know for sure, but I'd like to think that in their view, my speed and driving behaviour was not going to cause any problems in respect of the conditions and traffic and I was in a high performance car that was obviously designed to handle the performance. I think they stayed behind me a bit just to remind me that there was a speed limit and not to get too carried away.

The result of thier discretion: I got the message, nothing dangerous was done on the part of either party, and someone who was driving like a loon got his collar felt. Justice done and seen to be done, a member of the public sees the traffic police as something a bit more reasonable than a Gatso with legs!

I have noticed they like to "hang around" a little further down towards the r/b in the parking bays, cheeky sods, they'd be better off catching the idiots who pile out of the temple/mosque trying a u-turn.

Aha! I was talking about the other M25 roundabout. I.e. the one that leads towards Aylesbury and Hemel.

I stand corrected, sort of

Hunton Bridge Roundabout??, I have driven down from the M25 onto that roundabout 5-6 times a week for the past 9 years and only last week did i even notice the words Hunton Bridge on top of the Big Blue Road signs, didnt even know it had a name !!.

Obviously going far too quickly for far too long
