Surprised at how much I liked this film - easily the best of the newer Star Wars films. Loved it when he turned to the dark side, killed all the younglings etc!!

Having never seen a Star Wars film in my life (please don't hit me), I went to see ROTS earlier, and thoroughly enjoyed it (so much so I am gonna have to get the others and watch them). Some cracking fight scenes

ive heard it said that lucas shouldve cast unknown/little known actors in the prequels as harrison ford, mark hamill, carrie fisher, etc were all relatively unknown when they first appeared, but they have since become such big names (in fords case anyway) or such icons connected with the series that i dont think this wouldve made a difference...
im not a star wars geek but i love the movies and the whole spectacle of star wars (own a few books, etc but dont dress up like chewie on the weekend for kicks or anything), but i do think that the prequels were made almost as a showcase for ILM at the expense of the dialogue/storyline...and come on, i know were not expecting oscar-winning performances but some parts of the script and the delivery are terrible...

I've got this Friday off and I'm thinking of taking the missus to see ROTS. We can either go to Bracknell or Guildford. Which one is the best for a great sound and visual experience?

-The part where Anakin pledged himself to the Sith was awful
-The Darth Vader 'Nooooooo' scene was frankly laughable.
This was a potentially great film undermined by
i) Crap script
ii) Cramming too much in, especially wth regards to CGI
iii) Largely poor acting, though I have sympathy for the actors given that they had a blue screen and a poor script hampering them!
iv) Poor cinematography that severly detracts from some of the fight sequences, which is especially unfortunate, as if the film had delievered on this (as it should, because clearly the actors put a lot of effort into their sequences) you could have forgiven it for the script.
It was sad to see it end, and despite its flaws I did enjoy it largely, but It should have been much better.

I went to see it last night and thought it was awesome, so the acting was fairly poor, but it is really an action film and it did that very well indeed.
The only cheesy bit was when she names the two children. Come on, we all knoew what they were going to be called anyway.
