At the time I purchased the car last month there was no PPP on offer (not sure I would have wanted it anyway if insurance/petrol costs higher) though they would have offered free servicing.

The dealer only offered a WRX for £19500 and £5600 for my 3yr old 206GTi (which needed some dents in the roof fixing)

As I was buying on a PCP it meant putting in a further £2K and paying £340per month over 3 years

Alliance offered me £5500 for my car and charge £15999 so only had to put £1000 deposit and payments £299 per month. Only extra was alarm £300 and locking nuts £30.

So an approx saving of £2476 over 3 years surely when I come to sell there won't be that much difference in price.

Have just had the trans border warranty confirmed with IM so hopefully no problem there.

Yes the dealers might not like it but they will make some money from servicing the car.

So apart from the AA cover I have made a saving, though I am more bothered about my monthly finance costs than resale

Ironically if more people were buying euro imports maybe the UK ones would have to drop in price, then maybe I could afford one from a UK dealer.
Maybe the real reason they are offering PPP is because they are losing business due to imported cars.
