Both around the same approximately...certainly more than 500 brake and similar torque

And the car that did a 10.63 was not the car that ran to 190.1mph...

When Mark did his top speed run he acheived (IIRC) an 11.54 quater with a terminal of 127mph, over the next mile beyond that he managed to increase that speed to 190.1mph.

With Steven driving the same (nigh on full road trim and weight remember inc standard road tyres - Bridgestone S02's) car he was able to very cosnsitantly cover the 1/4 in 10.93 seconds with a 133mph terminal...unfortunately by the time we had removed the top section of rear spoiler it was too late for him to carry out a top speed run of his own. He did get a run at the end of the day, but it was a lot more windy by then and he only (only such a great choice of word) reached 189.4mph...oh and the car hoped sideways about 5m when it was hit by gust of wind at 175mph and then fishtailed for a bit ***** of steel I say We can only guess for now if 200mph over that distance could have been acheived

I had some gearbox issues (destroyed the transfer gears) and only managed a 10.8
This was the fastest time at the end of qualifying, Paul went on to run quicker in the shootout but the times were not counted due to it being a 'first across the line' trophy they were racing for.
Pauls, Marks, Davids and my own car will all be in the 500-600bhp bracket somewhere.

Andy

ps, any wind had fallen away by the end of the day Tim had it not ?

I'll do a 200mph next year then, just to show that it can...

Oh yes, and to make up for the fact I didn't do one this year! I may need an upgrade or two...

Got to the start line in the left hand lane for and was asked if I wanted to do a 1/4 mile OR a top speed run. Was desperatley trying to improve my 1/4 mile time so went for that option.

Anyone else wanted to do a top speed this year and didn't manage it?

PS Not complaining, had a great day!

And I've a fair idea what the back of it looks like! Queueing behined him a lot of the day. Would know the back even better if I'd raced him...

He definately ran some excellent times, which I'd be more than happy to be achieving!

Anyway, I'm sure he'll be along in a bit...

Not really, it became very gusty after the rain clouds had set in, which was after Mark had done his run. It had been pretty still up until then.

I thought you were running your car on the strip mate! I had it in my head that you were the green wagon running and the one that waved and passed me on the a19 home! guess not.

stick the R888`s on. I am quite impressed with them - more from driving through the downpour with them on than from the shoot out. I am using them at Croft this Sunday - so I will try and give report on my findings.

I saw the rear wheels slipping from your launch - obviously a lot of power going to the rear axle.

didnt mean to quiz - but someone said you were running GEMS with a launch control map? if so may I PM you for some further details?

cheers Mark

Don't know what was happening with me!!!!
My best run was the first run of the day (14.68)
I ran two years ago on a 14.75 with no mods.

This time i had a Scooby ECU, STi Panel Filter and centre de-cat and Back Box (Scorpion tuner 5). I normally push 17 psi boost held.
As the day went on boost was dropping of to around 14 psi

Must be driver rubbishy starting LOL.

Never mind there is always next year.

It was a great day, and the atmosphere was fantastic.

Not going to list everyone that's helped, there are too many, but they know who they are, and thanks

However, Steven did a blinding job driving the car in the 1/4's, and I've put my name down for a few "launch & gear change" lessons

Also Pat for the mapping, Paul for building the gearbox, and Kev, and Mark at Scooby Clinic for saving the day, with all their help on Saturday afternoon

Thanks to all of you.

There's definately more to come

Mark
