bob'5- and your running HOW much power on the 2L?
:
Fancy a group buy on a bigger engine Bob?
I was gutted not to get into the low 12's this time..
by the time I started to consistently get the launch right, I either kept red lighting (over keen) or as I got over 5k in 3rd I could hear the clutch starting to slip
and on my best launch I managed to have problems getting into 3rd and 4th..
that will teach me to run on the same clutch as last year's shootout
Can vouch highly for the Clinic/Lateral 'Race' clutch (non paddle) with over 50 launches over the last year.

Essentially its a std UK car with a std TD05, STi TMIC, filter, exhaust and headers (+ the usual supporting mods). I reckon I can shave a bit off the time by not running as full-weight as last time and a bit more off the time by running somewhere a bit more grippy than the pod. I guess I'd be aiming for 12.2/12.3
I know the feeling re not having a clean run. I'm yet to have one too.
Dont tempt me with the GB

I saw the rear wheels slipping from your launch - obviously a lot of power going to the rear axle.
didnt mean to quiz - but someone said you were running GEMS with a launch control map? if so may I PM you for some further details?
cheers Mark

brunters is about the same length as elvington david. first bit is uphill as well there, and you then head toward a few hundred vans parked at the top end of the runway, ***** of steel job there if you leave it late. i've done 155mph in my gt4 there in 1.5miles which left plenty of room again for braking. i was there when fensport adrian ran 200mph in his corrolla, and he ran out of room under braking ending up in the van areas with cracked discs and pads. (*he'd asked for some bales to be moved in case of this happening!) no damage done tho.

When we were there Ronnie was no quicker coming round the bend than he was when he went for it with a standing start

What he said. Where you 'start' is a couple of 100 - 200 yards behind the 'exit' of the bend. You should be able to carry 80mph through the exit, which is basically where you'd be from a standing start. I think I'd prefer using the corner though. Not sure if you can though, if, say you need a 'GO' from an official etc

UK MY00 Turbo with standard long block, gearbox and diffs.
APS FMIC, MD304 Turbo and Link ECU.
Full factory trim, plus dog guard, minus spare wheel and jack.
18" wheels with 215/35/18 tyres at 36psi
Back then, it was running around 360bhp and 330lbft, at a guess
