has anyone else tried ths chargecooler recently and what's the verdict: worth the costs and really is an upgrade form TMIC or waste of money and not any better than any other bit TMIC??? thx

i have a wrx mapped and modded a bit to 285ish. i have a psi3, the intake temp is only ever 3deg above ambient when moving, (although it rises very quickly and takes a lot longer to go back down if stationary for any significant period and once on the move again) so what would something like this kit acheive, how low to ambient could the intake temp hope to drop to, would 2 or 3 deg make a difference or is it the recovery from high temps from being stationary that is markedly better, or is the kit mainly for 'flow' (or even bling). can anyone explain?.

The intake temps you are seeing are those at the MAF ie before the turbo. It's the actual charge temp. that needs to be as low as possible. My experience of a chargecooler system, fitted to a Power Engineering turbo converted Mondeo I owned a few years ago, was that it worked very well. Inlet to the heat exchanger would be hot whilst the outlet really was cold! It had a two speed pump that switched according to on/off boost. P.E. claimed the highest charge temp. seen during testing was 38c

I understood this kit was initially aimed at those living in a warmer climate than ours, where it could make a huge difference.
