It looks to me as if the grille is moulded as part as the bumper, if so it's not going to be cheap to change.

Great - another annual iteration of the Scooby leading to yet more devalued cars out there - and hence a devalued brand. It's shocking how Subaru can pretty much change the car every single year with something new - and yet still keep the old old chassis that could do with being trashed and redeveloped. It's must be 14 years old now...

I look at the shape of the grille and I keep thinking...

Totally hideous front end.... Why do FHI keep mucking about with these ridiculous designs?

And yes, it does look like a previous-generation Seat.....

When will they learn????

Very doubtful, it will be a 2ltr lump, possably the twin scoll setup for the STi, that would be around 300ps, maybe a tuned engine for the wrx but dont hold your breath.

i'll be surprised if the wrx will be any more than 230bhp and the sti 270bhp

remember that this is a facelift,
and the NEW NEW impreza will be out in a few years time, i think they want THAT one to be special

Nothing to do with insurance groups. The 2.0 is for rally homologation.

The 06 WRX and 06 STi models will both have a 2.5 engine. I'm not expecting a huge increase in power, but a healthy increase in bottom and mid range torque and much better driveability.

A 2.5 engine would certainly bring a lot of buyers in I would have thought. And would be an incentive for many people who may not be overkeen on the looks, but have been thinking of having a 2.5 engine imported/built to stick in current car. Probably as economical to trade up especially with warranty and the fact the engine will be properly tested. Good bhp potential with reasonable mods too. Is 2.5 block really going to happen??

I agree STi will surely be 2.5 and WRX 2 litre - question is can respected aftermarket tuners provide over 350 lb ft for cost of re-map and exhaust (STi) - I believe nearer 400 with full de-cat and improved breathing, re-map and boost...?? (say, + £1.6k over STi cost) - so if Cyprus could kindly donate the car for say £22k on the road, that will be sub £24k for 400 / 400 road rocket - I havent got that sort of money, but will be in the second hand queue in a couple of yrs - will probably mod blobeye to c 350 / 350 with WRC or similar (a little sceptical how it appears these are the only tuners to get over 350 from std turbo though...)

I feel the need- the need for speeeeeeeeeeed...

Like it myself, an improvement over the rather soft looking current car, IMO.

When will the car be out in the UK?

Will it be out in Japan any sooner?

do you reckon it'll be anything like this?

300-hp 2.5-liter turbo boxer engine
300 lb-ft of torque at 4,000 rpm
Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive
High performance sport-tuned 4-wheel independent suspension
Brembo performance braking system with Super Sport ABS
17-inch lightweight alloy wheels
Ultra high-performance tires1
STi-design front seats

source USA subaru

it makes a wider choice now, as in my local paper, mitsubishi is now offering £5k (yes £5,000) OFF on all evos

advertised prices was evo 260 £19,999, evo 320 £23,999

This doesnt make sense, mainly because there is no demand in europe for a 2.5, if anything the uk will get the twin scroll 2ltr, which IS a better engine than the 2.5, but we shall wait and see

Tony
