The bloody thing (205 gti)won't start every so often. No smell of petrol, which, makes me think fuel pump. It would not start this am and when I go home tonight started first time!!!
Any ideas?

Mark, very common! Mine does this now and then, I thought it was the starter motor, but I now have a brand new OEM version on and it still does it now and then though it is better. The other main causes of intermittent starting are ignition amplifier or would you believe it, dodgy/dirty earthing connections. I'd advise to look at sorting the earths first then look to the ignition amp or starter!
the 205 gti owners forum has a thread on the the process as I asked and it was posted, can't remember exactly but if you search my posts it will show up! Good luck in sorting it m8!

Stress cracks behind the doors, between the rear side window and roof are an indication as to how hard a life it's had.
